Organizations Filed Purposes: To educate and train students to become skilled and compassionate practitioners of Oriental Medicine.

ACHIEVEMENTS IN PAST FISCAL YEAR 2019-2020 Academic: The September 12, 2019 notice from ACAOM granted "Wongu University of Oriental Medicine and its master's level program in Oriental medicine initial accreditationfor a period of five (5) years effective August 17, 2019." ACAOM also required a Second Progress Report to address the non-compliance of Standards 6.01 and 6.03. Wongu University submitted the Second Progress Report on May 26, 2020. (ACAOM replied on August 24, 2020, "The Commission finds criteria 6.01 and 6.03 compliant requiring further development and requested a Third Progress Report by June 1, 2021.) Wongu employed 23 adjunct faculty, teaching an average 66 courses per term. New faculty included:o Joyce Edwards,MSOM, RDMS, L.Ac. o John Fang, MSOM, DAOM, L.Ac. o Michel Herskovitz, MTOM, OMD. o Jiling Hu, MD. (China), L.Ac. o Paul Kapsar, RN, MSN, APRN. o Eric Richardson, MD. o Manjusha Vinjamuri, MAOM, L.Ac., MD. (Ayurveda) The Covid-19 pandemic forced Wongu to redesign and offer all didactic courses online in Spring and Summer 2020 terms. Wongu Health Center: The WHC served 216 new patients with a total of 2,228 patient visits during the fiscal year (clinic closed during Spring term). Each term an average of fifteen (15) interns worked 37 shifts. The patient visits and store sales generated $122,052 in revenue. The WHC interns and faculty served over 100 community members during the Chinese New Year Health Exhibition on January 25, 2020. The WHC was closed during the Spring term due to the Covid-19 pandemic. WHC installed HEPA-filter air purifiers in each examination room and adopted CDC safety protocols throughout the clinic to re-open in July 2020. Admissions/Enrollment: Total number of students enrolled each term fluctuated between 43-45 students. Spring 2020 saw a new class of seven students enroll, the highest number in one term. Michael Giampaoli was hired as Admissions Director, September 2019. Marketing: Google Search Term & Facebook advertising campaign -- The Higher Education Marketing (HEM) firm was contracted to produce landing pages and utilize search engine optimization. HEM also develops advertising on Facebook for targeted audiences. New Brochure Printed -- An updated version of the University brochure was designed and published. Newsletter Launched -- A quarterly newsletter is published each academic term to highlight academic and student achievements. Wongu applied for authorization to offer Educational Benefits provided by the Veteran's Administration to qualified veterans, service members and family members. Application was approved July 2020. Graduates and Alumni: Five recent graduates passed all four content domains of the NCCAOM Exams. Four graduates passed the Nevada State licensure exam in February 2020. Administrative The Board approved the Strategic Priorities 2020-2023 at the June 12, 2020 meeting.
