Organizations Filed Purposes:
IORG Nevada Rainbow prepares girls for responsible and purposeful adulthood through character and leadership development, encouraging unselfish service and higher ideals in life, and promoting teamwork and effective interpersonal communication.
To empower girls to successes in adulthood through character, leadership, and citizenship development through Rainbow experiences.
Nevada Rainbow girls, with supportive adults, raise funds by volunteering in Food Services (Sodexo) at the University of Nevada Reno during football, basketball games, and special events as well as Greater Nevada Field (Compass Group) during soccer and baseball seasons. The funds help to defray their Assembly's operating costs as well as assists in the girls inter and intra jurisdictional travel expenses. $3,618.07 was distributed to Nevada Rainbow Assemblies, reported on line 21(B), with another $10,854.67, reported on line 21(A) was distributed to our Masonic brothers and sisters by either checks or a liability entry. This was less than seen in 2019 due to the inability of working due to COVID shutdown. The amounts listed in revenue and expenses are from the UNR men's 2019-2020 basketball season, before COVID.
Nevada Rainbow's Statewide Service Project, selected by our Past Grand Worthy Advisor began July 1, 2019, were raising funds and and providing service supporting the foster care community. Kids Kottage Shelter provides temporary care for Washoe County's abused and neglected children until they can safely be return to their safely be returned to their families. Additionally, Peggy's Attic is the donation center for Clark County Department of Family Services serving all children touched by the Family Courts by providing clothing, shoes, toys, diapers toiletry items, developmental toys, school supplies, and many other items free of charge. An additional $2,684.35 in fund raising efforts were reported in 2019 for operational use. With the new Grand Year our current Grand Worthy Advisor has chosen to support agencies working with domestic violence, one each in Northern and Southern Nevada. To this fund raising effort $2,700.00 thus far for operational use. These funds will be paid in June 2021, at the close of the Grand Year. $721.90 has been incurred in 2021 for fundraising expenses that supports the current service project.
Nevada Rainbow awarded four (2) in 2019-2020 and seven (7) in 2020-2021 to girls either entering post high school educational degree program or returning to upper level studies in a degree program. Expenses noted are 2nd half of respective scholarships in 2019-2020 Grand Year and 1st half of respective scholarships in 2020-2021 Grand Year. The revenue stream aligns with our Grand calendar year. The expenses aligns with our Grand Year that begins July 1. Unfortunately, due to COVID there were half of our 2019-2020 recipients did not qualify to receive their 2nd semester financial assistance. Unspent monies are recycled back into the fund for future scholarship awards.
