Organizations Filed Purposes:
The Veterans Transportation Service provides free roundtrip transportation for veterans and family members to hospitals and specialty healthcare clinics in the Nashville and Murfreesboro, TN area (some 55-80 miles away). In 2020, over !,000 veterans were supported during the difficult COVID-19 period. Our all volunteer drivers and dispatchers contributed over 4500 hours and our vehicles traveled over 26,000 miles. The majority of our veterans are disabled and are totally dependent on our transportation services for their healthcare.
During 2020 the Veterans Transportation Service provided our veterans healthcare to and from city hospitals involving an all volunteer force driving over 25,000 accident free miles. This is especially noteworthy during the COVID 19 pandemic where driver and dispatcher were at risk. Our health and safety protocols allowed us to insure our most needy, disabled veterans would receive the required life sustaining healthcare.
