Organizations Filed Purposes: ASSIST INDIVIDUALS WITH DEVELOPMENTAL DISABILITIES.

EARLY LEARNING PROGRAM: THIS PROGRAM PROVIDES SERVICES TO YOUNG CHILDREN WHO ARE EXPERIENCING DEVELOPMENTAL DELAYS OR HAVE A DIAGNOSED CONDITION THAT HAS A HIGH PROBABILITY OF RESULTING IN DEVELOPMENTAL DELAY. EARLY INTERVENTIONISTS DELIVER SERVICES WHERE THE CHILD LIVES, LEARNS, AND PLAYS IN ORDER TO INCREASE THE LIKELIHOOD OF CONSISTENT PRACTICE WITH THE SKILLS. IN THIS SETTING, THE SKILLS LEARNED ARE FUNCTIONALLY RELEVANT TO THE CHILD IN THEIR EVERYDAY ACTIVITIES. IN ADDITION TO DIRECT SUPPORT OF CHILDREN, THE INTERVENTIONISTS PROVIDE CONSULTATION AND TRAINING FOR CHILD CARE PROVIDERS. IN THE FISCAL YEAR 2017-2018, 600 CHILDREN RECEIVED SERVICES. OF THESE CHILDREN, 100% HAVE SHOWN PROGRESS TOWARD OUTCOMES AS SPECIFIED IN THEIR INDIVIDUALIZED FAMILY SERVICE PLAN (IFSP).

ADULT DAY SERVICES: OUR ADULT DAY SERVICES PROVIDE ACTIVITIES THAT SUPPORT THE ACQUISITION, RETENTION, OR IMPROVEMENT IN COMMUNICATION, DAILY LIVING SKILLS, AND SOCIAL SKILLS TO ADULTS WITH INTELLECTUAL DISABILITIES. INTENDED OUTCOMES INCLUDE INCREASED COMPETENCY IN DAILY LIVING SKILLS AND TO CONNECT THESE INDIVIDUALS WITH THEIR COMMUNITY. ADULT DAY SERVICES ARE PROVIDED IN THE WILLIAMSON COUNTY COMMUNITY AND WE HAVE ADULT DAY CENTERS, LOCATED IN FRANKLIN AND FAIRVIEW. IN THE SECOND HALF OF 2017, WE SERVED 56 ADULTS AT THESE LOCATIONS. INDIVIDUALS ARE ENCOURAGED TO CONSIDER COMMUNITY-BASED EMPLOYMENT AND ARE LINKED TO VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES TO LEARN SKILLS AND BUILD SELF-ESTEEM. EXAMPLES OF VOLUNTEER ACTIVITIES: PACKAGING LUNCHES FOR MEALS ON WHEELS; ASSISTING WITH DELIVERY OF MEAL; CLEANING TRAILS AT EDWIN WARNER PARK; ASSISTING WITH FOOD AND CLOTHES SORTING AT GRACEWORKS AND THRIFT SMART, AND ASSISTING WITH MAILINGS OR FILING FOR NONPROFIT ORGANIZATIONS.

ADULT RESIDENTIAL SERVICES: WAVES OPERATES EIGHT HOMES WITH LIVE-IN OR 24/7 SUPPORT STAFF. THESE HOMES PROVIDE RESIDENTIAL SUPPORT FOR 22 INDIVIDUALS. WE ALSO OFFER A SEMI-INDEPENDENT LIVING OPTION. THIS PROGRAM IS DESIGNED FOR INDIVIDUALS WHO HAVE HIGHER FUNCTIONALITY AND NEED LESS ASSISTANCE IN DAILY TASKS. WE CURRENTLY SUPPORT FOUR INDIVIDUALS IN THAT PROGRAM.
