CHILD & FAMILY TENNESSEE HAS BEEN NURTURING THE LIVES OF EAST TENNESSEANS SINCE 1929. WE MEET THE NEEDS OF COMMUNITY MEMBERS THROUGH RECOVERY PROGRAMS, THERAPY, SAFE SHELTERS, FOSTER CARE AND OTHER YOUTH SERVICES, HOUSING FOR WOMEN WITH MENTAL ILLNESS AND THEIR CHILDREN, AND PROGRAMS THAT HELP BUILD STRONG, SELF-SUFFICIENT FAMILIES. FOR EVERY $1 FROM LOCAL FUNDS, CHILD & FAMILY TENNESSEE DRAWS APPROXIMATELY $8.70 IN FEDERAL FUNDS TO EAST TENNESSEE.
RECOVERY SERVICES FOR WOMEN AND CHILDREN - WOMEN AND THEIR CHILDREN ARE THE FOCUS OF CHILD & FAMILY TENNESSEE. OUR RECOVERY SERVICES FOR WOMEN AND CHILDREN ARE DESIGNED TO HELP WOMEN AND THEIR CHILDREN IN SUCH AREAS AS DOMESTIC VIOLENCE, MENTAL HEALTH, HOMELESSNESS, AND SUBSTANCE ABUSE. CHILD AND FAMILY SERVED WOMEN AND CHILDREN THROUGH ITS RECOVERY SERVICES PROGRAMS, AND PROVIDED NIGHTS OF SHELTER AND RESIDENTIAL CARE FOR THOSE SERVED. THE CLIENTS SERVED THROUGH THESE PROGRAMS WERE SATISFIED WITH THE SERVICES THEY RECEIVED. CLIENTS IN THESE PROGRAMS SHOWED IMPROVEMENT IN WORK, SCHOOL, AND FAMILY RELATIONSHIPS. THE WOMEN DISCHARGED FROM THE FAMILY CRISIS CENTER DOMESTIC VIOLENCE SHELTER LEFT TO A NEW, SAFER LIVING SITUATION FREE OF DOMESTIC VIOLENCE. 100 PERCENT OF THE BABIES BORN AT OUR GREAT STARTS RESIDENTIAL SUBSTANCE ABUSE RECOVERY PROGRAM WERE BORN HEALTHY.
PERMANENCY SERVICES - CHILD & FAMILY TENNESSEE PROVIDES PERMANENCY SERVICES TO YOUTH AGES 8-18 WHO ARE IN NEED OF SERVICES AND SUPPORT DUE PLACEMENT IN STATE CUSTODY, HOMELESSNESS, AND AGING OUT OF STATE CUSTODY. ADDITIONALLY, CHILD & FAMILY TENNESSEE PROVIDES FOSTER CARE PLACEMENT AND SUPPORT FOR CHILDREN AND FOSTER PARENTS. CHILD AND FAMILY SERVED CHILDREN AND THEIR FAMILIES THROUGH OUR PERMANENCY SERVICES PROGRAMS, AND PROVIDED NIGHTS OF SHELTER AND RESIDENTIAL CARE FOR THOSE SERVED. THE CLIENTS SERVED THROUGH THESE PROGRAMS WERE SATISFIED WITH THE SERVICES THEY RECEIVED. THE CLIENTS IN THESE PROGRAMS SHOWED IMPROVEMENT IN WORK, SCHOOL, AND FAMILY RELATIONSHIPS. THE CHILDREN LEAVING THE RUNAWAY SHELTER LEFT TO A SAFE HOME. AFTER ENTERING OUR PERMANENCY PROGRAMS FOR CHILDREN IN STATE CUSTODY, THE CHILDREN REPORT FEELING SAFER AND DO NOT EXPERIENCE FURTHER ABUSE OR NEGLECT.
FAMILY SUPPORT AND PRESERVATION SERVICES - THROUGH OUR FAMILY SUPPORT AND PRESERVATION SERVICES, CHILD & FAMILY TENNESSEE IS ABLE TO PROVIDE THERAPEUTIC SERVICES TO MEN, WOMEN, AND CHILDREN AT OUR THERAPY CENTER AND IN THE HOME. WE ALSO OFFER PARENTING CLASSES AND SUPPORT, GUIDANCE IN THE JUVENILE JUSTICE SYSTEM, IN-HOME NURSING SERVICES FOR FIRST-TIME MOTHERS, AND ASSISTANCE WITH EMPLOYMENT AND HOUSING TO FAMILIES IN NEED. CHILD AND FAMILY SERVED MEN, WOMEN, AND CHILDREN THROUGH OUR FAMILY SUPPORT AND PRESERVATION PROGRAMS. OUR CHILD AND FAMILY THERAPY CENTER AND PASAAC PROGRAM PROVIDED MANY HOURS OF COUNSELING TO ITS CLIENTS. OUR CHILD ABUSE PREVENTION (CAP) PROGRAM PROVIDED HOURS OF PARENTING CLASSES TO ITS PARTICIPANTS. OUR KIDS ON THE BLOCK PROGRAM PRESENTED HOURS OF PUPPET SHOWS TO CHILDREN IN EAST TN. THE CLIENTS SERVED THROUGH THESE PROGRAMS WERE SATISFIED WITH THE SERVICES THEY RECEIVED. THE CLIENTS IN THESE PROGRAMS SHOWED IMPROVEMENT IN WORK, SCHOOL, AND FAMILY RELATIONSHIPS. 100 PERCENT OF CLIENTS IN THE CHILD ABUSE PREVENTION (CAP) PROGRAM MADE PROGRESS ON THEIR GOALS WHILE IN THE PROGRAM. IN OUR NURSE FAMILY PARTNERSHIP PROGRAM, BABIES BORN TO MOTHERS IN THE PROGRAM WERE BORN AT FULL-TERM, AT A HEALTHY WEIGHT. FAMILIES RECEIVING IN-HOME COUNSELING DEMONSTRATE AN IMPROVED SITUATION THROUGH MAKING PROGRESS ON TREATMENT GOALS.
