Claiborne Medical Center is an 85-bed full service, acute care hospital located in Tazewell, TN. It also operates the Claiborne Health and Rehabilitation Center which is licensed for 100 beds. It is a member of the Covenant Health system.

Claiborne Medical Center ("Claiborne") opened in 1959 and serves the Tri-State area. It is located near the Cumberland Gap, in a rural area where healthcare is a much-needed service and more than 25 percent of the population is below the poverty line. Claiborne became part of the Covenant Health system in 2014.SERVICEClaiborne Medical Center is the only Covenant Health hospital with an ambulance service, which enhances area residents' ability to access health care. The hospital also operates Claiborne Health and Rehabilitation Center, a long-term care facility offering both short-term rehabilitation and residential care for those who can no longer live without assistance.In 2019, Claiborne provided care for 40,673 patients. Of these, 39,531 were outpatients and 1,142 were inpatients with an average length-of-stay of 3.20 days. PUTTING PATIENTS FIRSTThe hospital is best known for its surgical services, cardiac rehabilitation, a lymphedema program, and its nursing home and emergency medical services. The hospital is a member of Covenant Health's stroke hospital network, which links Covenant Health's member hospitals in providing access to rapid diagnosis and treatment of stroke, and received Acute Stroke Ready certification from the Joint Commission in 2019. Claiborne Medical Center also opened a new wound care center in 2019. One full-time general surgeon is on staff, in addition to specialists who provide care on a part-time basis.Claiborne offers imaging services that include a full-service clinical laboratory, digital mammography, high-definition MRI scans, CT services, echocardiography, and nuclear medicine. The imaging department is accredited by the American College of Radiology in five areas: CT scan, mammography, MRI, nuclear medicine, and ultrasound. IMPROVING THE COMMUNITY'S QUALITY OF LIFE THROUGH BETTER HEALTHClaiborne joined with other community partners in 2019 to provide workshops about breast cancer, mental health and substance abuse, and fall prevention for seniors. The medical center provided on-site flu vaccinations for local business, industry, and community organizations; participated in the planning for a family justice center for the community; and partnered with the governor's health initiative to provide information to the community about the prevention and treatment of diabetes. Claiborne began a certified sports medicine training program in 2019. Trainers work with coaches and students at the two high schools in Claiborne County, bringing awareness of injury prevention and safety issues on and off the field. The hospital also is a sponsor for the local Relay for Life event for the American Cancer Society. COVENANT HEALTH SYSTEMClaiborne is a member of Covenant Health.
