Friends of the Knox County Public Library is a nonprofit organization that supports a vision of an excellent, free, public library available to everyone. We are a group of committed individuals who advocate and raise support for all 18 locations of the library system. Our members contribute funds through annual dues as well as through donations and donate time through volunteering. Thousands of people in our community benefit from the library programs we support throughout Knox County.
Friends of the Knox County Public Library supports the library system directly by awarding special grants each year for library programs, supplies, and equipment. Grants this year provided funding for numerous virtual programs that were developed because of COVID limitations. Funds were also used to purchase audio, ebooks and other online resources. We continued to provided funds for equipment and supplies that would not be provided through government funding.
