Organizations Filed Purposes:
TO PROVIDE SCHOLARSHIPS TO DESERVING STUDENTS AND TO ASSIST OTHER CHARITABLE ORGANIZATIONS THROUGH CASH ALLOCATIONS.
THE ROTARY FOUNDATION OF KNOXVILLE WAS INCORPORATED FOR THE PURPOSE OF MAKING LOANS TO DESERVING YOUNG MEN AND WOMEN WHO ARE UNABLE TO ATTEND SCHOOL WITHOUT FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE. THE FOUNDATION CURRENTLY PROVIDES EIGHT, FOUR YEAR SCHOLARSHIPS FOR OUTSTANDING STUDENTS RESIDING IN KNOX COUNTY. THE ORGANIZATION'S SCOPE IS CONTINUING TO BROADEN TO COVER VARIOUS CHARITABLE, PHILANTHROPIC AND EDUCATIONAL CAUSES.
COMMUNITY SERVICE -PROMOTED LITERACY BY PROVIDING BOOKS TO A LOCAL ELEMENTARY SCHOOL LIBRARY. -PROVIDED FINANCIAL AND VOLUNTEER SUPPORT AND REFRESHMENTS AT KNOXVILLE'S FREE FLU SHOT SATURDAY EVENT. -SUPPORTED THE ATTENDANCE OF LOCAL CHILDREN AT KNOXVILLE MUSEUM OF ART SUMMER CAMP, KNOXVILLE SYMPHONY ORCHESTRA PERFORMANCES, KNOXVILLE OPERA COMPANY PERFORMANCES, AND CLARENCE BROWN THEATRE PRODUCTIONS. -PROVIDED FUNDING FOR UPDATE TO THE FRIENDS OF THE SMOKIES DONOR WALL IN THE GREAT SMOKY MOUNTAINS NATIONAL PARK. -SPONSORED THE ROTARY CLUB OF KNOXVILLE'S ANNUAL PEACE LUNCHEON. AWARDED A MEMBER OF THIS COMMUNITY WITH THE PEACE AWARD, A 3,000 DONATION TO THE CHARITY OF THE RECIPIENT'S CHOICE. THIS YEAR'S AWARD WINNER WAS BRIDGE REFUGEE SERVICES. -PROVIDED FINANCIAL AND VOLUNTEER SUPPORT FOR THE AREA ROTARY CLUBS' WORLD ROTARY DAY PROJECT AT SOUTH KNOX ELEMENTARY AND WESLEY HOUSE. -PROVIDED A 10,000 GRANT AND VOLUNTEER SERVICE TO BIKE REWARD PROGRAM THRU DISTRICT ATTORNEY GENERAL -PROVIDED A 1,500 GRANT TO SECOND HARVEST FOOD BANK OF EAST TENNESSEE FOR COVID-19 -DONATED 5,000 TO BECK CULTURAL EXCHANGE CENTER FOR THE RENOVATION OF THE DELANEY HOUSE.
YOUTH SERVICE -AWARDED A SCHOLARSHIP TO A COLLEGE-BOUND KNOX COUNTY STUDENT GOOD FOR 5,000 PER YEAR FOR FOUR YEARS AND 5,000 ONE YEAR TO TWO STUDENTS. -CONTINUE TO PROVIDE ANNUAL SCHOLARSHIPS TO PRIOR YEAR SCHOLARSHIP AWARD WINNERS -PROVIDED 1,000 SCHOLARSHIPS TO THREE GRADUATING STUDENTS FROM COMMUNITY SCHOOL OF THE ARTS. -RECOGNIZED LOCAL EDUCATORS CHOSEN AS ROTARY CLUB OF KNOXVILLE'S OUTSTANDING TEACHER OF THE YEAR WITH CASH GIFTS AND OTHER AWARDS. -SUBSIDIZED LOCAL HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS ATTENDING THE ROTARY YOUTH LEADERSHIP AWARDS LEADERSHIP CONFERENCE. -SUBSIDIZED THE BEAUMONT MAGNET ACADEMY'S FRESH FRUIT PROGRAM TO PROVIDE WEEKLY FOOD TO STUDENT IN NEED. -SPONSORED THE TENNESSEE VALLEY FAIR MEDAL OF HONOR PHOTOGRAPHY COMPETITION. -PROVIDE SUPPORT FOR THE FOLLOWING LOCAL YOUTH ROTARY CLUBS: UNIVERSITY OF TN ROTARACT CLUB, KNOXVILLE COMMUNITY ROTARACT CLUB, THE WEBB SCHOOL INTERACT CLUB, AND THE KNOXVILLE CATHOLIC HIGH SCHOOL INTERACT CLUB BY PROVIDING MATCHING CONTRIBUTIONS AND VOLUNTEER MENTORSHIP AND SERVICE HOURS. -CONTINUED WITH A READING PROGRAM AT BEAUMONT MAGNET ACADEMY AND PROVIDED BOOKS AND VOLUNTEER HOURS FOR THE PROGRAM. -PROVIDED A BOOK ON BEHALF OF EACH SPEAKER AT ROTARY CLUB OF KNOXVILLE MEETINGS TO A LOCAL ELEMENTARY SCHOOL LIBRARY. -DONATED TO THE AREA ROTARY CLUBS' YOUTH EXCHANGE GRANT, ALLOWING A DESERVING AREA STUDENT THE ABILITY TO STUDY ABROAD.
INTERNATIONAL SERVICE -CONTINUED TO SUPPORT AN ADVANCED TRAUMA LIFE SUPPORT SCHOOL FOR DOCTORS AND NURSES IN BULAWAYO, ZIMBABWE. -PROVIDED FINANCIAL SUPPORT FOR CHRISTMAS GIFTS FOR CHILDREN LIVING IN AN ORPHANAGE IN MATESZALKA, HUNGARY. -PROVIDED ONGOING FUNDING FOR A PRESCHOOL AND TRAFFIC SAFETY PROGRAM IN KNSYNA, SOUTH AFRICA. -PROVIDED FINANCIAL SUPPORT FOR THE BAGS OF LOVE FOOD PROGRAM IN STANFORD, SOUTH AFRICA. -SPONSORED DINNERS FOR INCOMING INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS AT THE UNIVERSITY OF TENNESSEE AND PELLISSIPPI STATE COMMUNITY COLLEGE. -PROVIDED FINANCIAL SUPPORT TO THE ROTARY CLUBS OF BULAWAYO SOUTH, ZIMBABWE AND THE INTERACT CLUB OF KNYSNA, SOUTH AFRICA. -PROVIDED FINANCIAL AND ADMINISTRATIVE SUPPORT TO A PEACE-MAKING PROJECT FOR YOUNG WOMEN IN STANFORD, SOUTH AFRICA.
