VOLUNTEER BOARD MEMBERS PARTICIPATE IN THE SPONSORSHIP OF MEET THE CANDIDATE ACTIVITIES & YEARLY POLICY MEETINGS WITH THEIR LEGISLATORS TO EDUCATE THEM ABOUT AG POLICY & HOW THE INDUSTRY IS IMPACTED BY LAWMAKERS.

LEADERS ATTEND DISTRICT, STATE & NATIONAL CONFERENCES TO NETWORK WITH FARMERS & OTHER AGRICULTURALISTS TO LEARN ABOUT CURRENT ISSUES FACING AGRICULTURE. A HIGHLY DEVELOPED COMMITTEE STRUCTURE PROVIDES LEADERSHIP OPPORTUNITIES FOR MEMBERS THROUGH MEETINGS, REGULAR COMMUNICATIONS, AND AGRICULTURAL ACTIVITIES.

YOUTH EDUCATION EFFORTS ANNUALLY THE BLOUNT COUNTY FARM BUREAU REMAINS INVOLVED AS PART OF THE OVERSIGHT OF AGRICULTURE YOUTH DEVELOPMENT IN THE AREA. THE EFFORTS INCLUDE OUTREACH TO RURAL, SUBURBAN, & URBAN YOUTH. THE BCFB ASSISTS IN MANNING AND FUNDING A AG FIELD DAY WHERE GRADE SCHOOL STUDENTS GET TO SEE HOW IMPORTANT AG IS TO EVERYDAY LIFE AND TO EDUCATE THEM ON WHERE OUR FOOD AND FIBER COMES FROM. THE BLOUNT COUNTY FARM BUREAU ALSO GIVES DONATIONS TO THE COUNTY FFA PROGRAM AND AGRICULTURE IN THE CLASSROOM.
