BAPTIST MEMORIAL REGIONAL REHABILITATION SERVICES, INC. PROVIDES REHABILITATION SERVICES AND HEALTH CARE TO THE COMMUNITY REGARDLESS OF RACE, CREED, SEX, NATIONAL ORIGIN, HANDICAP, OR AGE.
BAPTIST MEMORIAL REGIONAL REHABILITATION SERVICES, INC. PROVIDES REHABILITATION SERVICES AND MEDICAL HEALTH CARE TO PATIENTS REGARDLESS OF RACE, CREED, SEX, NATIONAL ORIGIN, HANDICAP, OR AGE. ALTHOUGH REIMBURSEMENT FOR SERVICES RENDERED IS CRITICAL TO THE OPERATION AND STABILITY OF BAPTIST MEMORIAL REGIONAL REHABILITATION SERVICES, INC., IT IS RECOGNIZED THAT NOT ALL INDIVIDUALS POSSESS THE ABILITY TO PURCHASE ESSENTIAL MEDICAL SERVICES, AND FURTHER, THAT OUR MISSION IS TO SERVE THE COMMUNITY WITH RESPECT TO PROVIDING HEALTH CARE SERVICES AND HEALTH CARE EDUCATION. THEREFORE, IN KEEPING WITH ITS COMMITMENT TO SERVE ALL MEMBERS OF ITS COMMUNITY, BAPTIST MEMORIAL REGIONAL REHABILITATION SERVICES, INC. PROVIDES THE FOLLOWING:- FREE CARE AND/OR SUBSIDIZED CARE WHERE THE NEED AND/OR AN INDIVIDUAL'S INABILITY TO PAY COEXISTS,- CARE PROVIDED TO PERSONS COVERED BY GOVERNMENTAL PROGRAMS AT BELOW COST, AND- HEALTH ACTIVITIES AND PROGRAMS TO SUPPORT THE COMMUNITY.THESE ACTIVITIES INCLUDE WELLNESS PROGRAMS, COMMUNITY EDUCATION PROGRAMS, AND SPECIAL PROGRAMS FOR THE ELDERLY, HANDICAPPED, MEDICALLY UNDERSERVED, AND A VARIETY OF BROAD COMMUNITY SUPPORT ACTIVITIES.BAPTIST MEMORIAL REGIONAL REHABILITATION SERVICES, INC. PROVIDES CARE TO PERSONS COVERED BY GOVERNMENTAL PROGRAMS FROM WHICH THE HOSPITAL RECEIVES PAYMENT AT LESS THAN MARKET VALUE REIMBURSEMENT. RECOGNIZING ITS MISSION TO THE COMMUNITY, SERVICES ARE PROVIDED TO MEDICARE, MEDICAID, AND UNINSURED PATIENTS. TO THE EXTENT REIMBURSEMENT IS BELOW COST, BAPTIST MEMORIAL REGIONAL REHABILITATION SERVICES, INC. RECOGNIZES THESE AMOUNTS AS CHARITY CARE IN MEETING ITS MISSION TO THE ENTIRE COMMUNITY. DURING THE FISCAL YEAR ENDED SEPTEMBER 30, 2019, THE UNREIMBURSED VALUE OF PROVIDING CARE TO THESE PATIENTS WAS $33,574,709.CHARITY CARE IS ALSO PROVIDED THROUGH MANY REDUCED PRICE SERVICES AND FREE PROGRAMS OFFERED THROUGHOUT THE YEAR BASED UPON ACTIVITIES AND SERVICES WHICH BAPTIST MEMORIAL REGIONAL REHABILITATION SERVICES, INC. BELIEVES WILL SERVE A BONA FIDE COMMUNITY HEALTH NEED.BAPTIST MEMORIAL RESTORATIVE CARE HOSPITAL, A DIVISION OF BAPTIST MEMORIAL REGIONAL REHABILITATION SERVICES, INC., IS A 30-BED, LONG-TERM, ACUTE-CARE HOSPITAL LOCATED WITHIN BAPTIST MEMORIAL HOSPITAL-MEMPHIS. IT IS DESIGNED SPECIFICALLY FOR PATIENTS WHO REQUIRE CONTINUED CARE OVER AN EXTENDED LENGTH OF TIME.MOST OF BAPTIST MEMORIAL RESTORATIVE CARE HOSPITAL'S PATIENTS ARE ADMITTED FROM INTENSIVE CARE AND SUBACUTE CARE UNITS. MOST PATIENTS STAY AT LEAST FOUR WEEKS. THE HOSPITAL PROVIDES A MULTIDISCIPLINARY APPROACH FOR WEANING PATIENTS FROM THE VENTILATOR AND OUR WOUND CARE PROGRAM. BAPTIST MEMORIAL RESTORATIVE CARE HOSPITAL SERVICED OVER 206 PATIENT DISCHARGES DURING THE FISCAL YEAR ENDING SEPTEMBER 30, 2019. BAPTIST MEMORIAL REGIONAL REHABILITATION SERVICES, INC. ALSO PROVIDED A NUMBER OF SERVICES IN THE COMMUNITY, PRIMARILY IN THE AREAS OF HEALTH EDUCATION AND SCHOOL PROGRAMS.BAPTIST MEMORIAL REGIONAL REHABILITATION SERVICES, INC. OFFERS MANY SUPPORT GROUPS SUCH AS THE STROKE AND DIABETES SUPPORT GROUPS. BAPTIST MEMORIAL REGIONAL REHABILITATION SERVICES, INC. ALSO PARTICIPATES AND SUPPORTS ITS PARENT, BAPTIST MEMORIAL HEALTH CARE CORPORATION, IN MANY SPECIAL ACTIVITIES SUCH AS ADOPT-A-SCHOOL, DONATIONS OF CASH, EQUIPMENT AND VOLUNTEER TIME, AS WELL AS, HEALTH FAIRS, DIABETES SCREENINGS AND OTHERS.
