MBAA inspire, educate and engage artists and audiences towards the creatin of just and equitable communities through forward-thinking experiences. MBAA acknowledge that African American art and culture are living, breathing, and ever-evolving, not simply to be preserved and remembered but to be created every day.
Memphis Black Arts Alliance is dedicated to improving the quality of life and economic well being of Greater Memphis through preservation, celebration and advancement of African American arts, literature and culture.
S.P.A.R.K. is a Summer Performing Arts Readiness Kamp. It is a mlti-disciplinary arts boot-camp taught by seasoned professionals representing all arts generes in an effort to catapult good communication skills, life skills, increased grammar, math and science aptitudes through the utilization of music, visual arts, movement, culinary and performing arts. SPARK ends with an entertaining showcase performance alongside of area professionals where the audience is engaged.
Jazz-A-FIRE is a monthly series that sets the stage to preserve the legacies of Memphis Jazz and Music Legend. Every 4th Sunday of the month, JAF creates a platform for different accomplished musical geniuses to be acknowledged, honored, and awarded for their contribution of the Historic Memphis Jazz Muisc Scene.
ArtsReach ASAP After School Arts Program, takes exemplary after school artistic experiences through music, multi-media, dance, theatre arts, creative writing, visual and graphic arts directly to where underserved children live and play. ArtsReach ASAP is a 7-8 week training facilitated by professional artists and was created to expand the young mind to search for alternative ways to resolve conflict, communicate, and avoid isolation which many times result in depression and substance abuse.
