The purpose of the Morristown-Hamblen Hospital Foundation is to generate charitable support for Morristown-Hamblen Hospital Association in promoting and advancing the well-being of the community by providing quality healthcare and health-related services.

Cancer and Palliative Care:Morristown-Hamblen Hospital Foundation's cancer patient fund provides emergency assistance to patients undergoing cancer treatment at Morristown Regional Cancer Center. Funds provide assistance for transportation, food and basic living needs, and specialized skin creams to aid in healing for radiation patients. The 2019 assistance provided included gas cards for transportation to treatment, groceries, medications and radiation skin cream, and utilities.
Morristown-Hamblen Patient and Employee Emergency Assistance:Contributions from the annual employee giving campaign support the assistance funds at Morristown-Hamblen Healthcare System, which provide emergency assistance for patients and employees in times of crisis. In 2019, the funds assisted 41 employees and five patients with emergency aid for items such as housing, utilities, transportation, medications, medical equipment and funeral expenses.
Labor and Delivery:A portion of the proceeds from Morristown-Hamblen Hospital Foundation's first Target for Healthcare trap shooting event were designated to support the families of stillborn and premature babies born at Morristown-Hamblen Healthcare System. Each family is provided with a special care box that includes items to help them cope with this stressful time in their lives. Each stillborn care box includes a small digital camera, a framed hand and foot print cast set, lettered beads for necklace/bracelet, stillborn grief books, baby hair and ashes keepsake locket, a birth certificate, a hand and footprint kit, information on grief groups and support, a warm blanket, and an encouraging letter from Rebecca Wood, a stillborn care advocate. Premature baby care boxes include a preemie beanie, a blanket wrap, preemie socks and mittens, a stuffed animal, a framed foot and handprint set, a plush baby blanket, a gas card and a gift card for a two-night hotel stay for parents to be able to visit their baby while in the neonatal intensive care unit (the closest neonatal ICU is in Knoxville). These care boxes are provided at no charge to MHHS labor and delivery unit families who experience a stillborn or premature birth.
