VOLUNTEER BOARD MEMBERS PARTICIPATE IN THE SPONSORSHIP OF MEET THE CANDIDATE ACTIVITIES & YEARLY POLICY MEETINGS WITH THEIR LEGISLATORS TO EDUCATE THEM ABOUT AG POLICY & HOW THE INDUSTRY IS IMPACTED BY LAWMAKERS.

LEADERS ATTEND DISTRICT, STATE & NATIONAL CONFERENCES TO NETWORK WITH FARMERS & OTHER AGRICULTURALISTS TO LEARN ABOUT CURRENT ISSUES FACING AGRICULTURE. A HIGHLY DEVELOPED COMMITTEE STRUCTURE PROVIDES LEADERSHIP OPPORTUNITIES FOR MEMBERS THROUGH MEETINGS, REGULAR COMMUNICATIONS, AND AGRICULTURAL ACTIVITIES.

AGRICULTURE EDUCATION ACTIVITIES RUTHERFORD COUNTY FARM BUREAU SPONSORS & ORGANIZES A COUNTYWIDE FARM DAY FOR 100 OR MORE 3RD GRADE STUDENTS, TEACHERS, & PARENTS FROM LOCAL SCHOOLS. MORE THAN A DOZEN INTERACTIVE EXHIBITS TEACH ABOUT FOOD & FIBER & AGIRCULTURES IMPORTANCE IN EVERYONES LIVES. ADOPT-A-SCHOOL PARTICIPATION WITH A RURAL K-12 SCHOOL EDUCATES TEACHERS IN ALL GRADE LEVELS ON HOW TO USE AGRICULTURE-BASED LESSONS TO TEACH BASIC SKILLS TO STUDENTS. RUTHERFORD COUNTY FARM BUREAU MEMBERS LEAD THE STATE IN PRIVATE DONATIONS TO THE STATEWIDE AGRICULTURE-IN-THE-CLASSROOM FOUNDATION.
