Organizations Filed Purposes:
THE MISSION OF THE AMERICAN JUDICATURE SOCIETY IS TO SECURE AND PROMOTE AN INDEPENDENT AND QUALIFIED JUDICIARY AND FAIR SYSTEM OF JUSTICE.
THE SOCIETY IS ORGANIZED TO PROTECT THE INTEGRITY OF THE AMERICAN JUSTICE SYSTEM.
CENTER FOR JUDICIAL ETHICS - THE CENTER FOR JUDICIAL ETHICS OF THE AMERICAN JUDICATURE SOCIETY ACTS AS A CLEARINGHOUSE FOR INFORMATION ABOUT JUDICIAL ETHICS AND DISCIPLINE. THE CENTER COLLECTS INFORMATION ABOUT AND PROVIDES RESEARCH SUPPORT FOR THE ORGANIZATIONS THAT INVESTIGATE COMPLAINTS OF JUDICIAL MISCONDUCT. THE CENTER ALSO GATHERS OPINIONS ISSUED BY JUDICIAL ETHICS ADVISORY COMMITTEES AND EACH YEAR RESPONDS TO HUNDREDS OF REQUESTS FOR INFORMATION FROM REPORTERS, JUDGES, COURTS, LEGISLATORS, LAWYERS, AND PROFESSORS. THE CENTER PUBLISHES RESOURCES ON JUDICIAL ETHICS, INCLUDING THE JUDICIAL CONDUCT REPORTER, A QUARTERLY REPORT ON DEVELOPMENTS IN JUDICIAL CONDUCT. THE CENTER PRESENTS A NATIONAL CONFERENCE EVERY TWO YEARS, AND THE CENTER STAFF MAKES PRESENTATIONS AT JUDICIAL EDUCATION MEETINGS.
MEMBERSHIP - THE AMERICAN JUDICATURE SOCIETY, WHICH BRINGS A PUBLIC PERSPECTIVE TO JUSTICE SYSTEM ISSUES, HAS AN UNWAVERING COMMITMENT TO ADVANCING JUSTICE FOR SOCIETY. OTHER PROGRAM SERVICES: CENTER FOR JUDICIAL SELECTION - THE HUNTER CENTER FOR JUDICIAL SELECTION WAS FOUNDED IN 1991 TO FURTHER THE AMERICAN JUDICATURE SOCIETY'S HISTORIC EXPERTISE ON STATE AND FEDERAL JUDICIAL SELECTION ISSUES. TODAY THE CENTER IS A NATIONALLY RECOGNIZED RESEARCH CENTER THAT CONDUCTS, SYNTHESIZES, AND DISSEMINATES EMPIRICAL RESEARCH ON A WIDE RANGE OF JUDICIAL SELECTION ISSUES. THE CENTER ACTS AS A CLEARINGHOUSE OF INFORMATION ON JUDICIAL SELECTION FOR JUDGES, ATTORNEYS, STATE COURT ADMINISTRATORS, LAWMAKERS, THE MEDIA, THE LEGAL AND ACADEMIC COMMUNITIES, AND COURT REFORM ORGANIZATION. THE CENTER CREATED AND MAINTAINS THE JUDICIAL SELECTION IN THE STATES WEBSITE, THE MOST COMPREHENSIVE COLLECTION OF DATA AND ANALYSIS OF JUDICIAL SELECTION METHODS AND ISSUES AVAILABLE ANYWHERE.
