VOLUNTEER BOARD MEMBERS PARTICIPATE IN THE SPONSORSHIP OF MEET THE CANDIDATE ACTIVITIES & YEARLY POLICY MEETINGS WITH THEIR LEGISLATORS TO EDUCATE THEM ABOUT AG POLICY & HOW THE INDUSTRY IS IMPACTED BY LAWMAKERS.

LEADERS ATTEND DISTRICT, STATE & NATIONAL CONFERENCES TO NETWORK WITH FARMERS & OTHER AGRICULTURALISTS TO LEARN ABOUT CURRENT ISSUES FACING AGRICULTURE. A HIGHLY DEVELOPED COMMITTEE STRUCTURE PROVIDES LEADERSHIP OPPORTUNITIES FOR MEMBERS THROUGH MEETINGS, REGULAR COMMUNICATIONS, AND AGRICULTURAL ACTIVITIES.

YOUTH LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT THE DAVIDSON COUNTY FARM BUREAU SUPPORTS YOUTH AG ORGANIZATIONS BOTH FINANCIALLY AND WITH VOLUNTEER HOURS. THE ORGANIZATION IS A PRIMARY SPONSOR OF THE DAVIDSON COUNTY 4H ORGANIZATION. BOARD MEMBERS ASSIST WITH LOCAL CLUB MEETINGS & SERVE AS JUDGES FOR CONTESTS. THE FB DONATED MONEY FOR AWARDS & FOR NEEDED SUPPLIES. DAVIDSON COUNTY FARM BUREAU SUPPORTS THE FFA WITH DONATIONS AT THE STATE & NATIONAL LEVELS. BOARD MEMBERS PARTICIPATE IN AG EDUCATION EFFORTS IN URBAN SETTINGS. A FESTIVAL IS HELD ANNUALLY TO EDUCATE K-5TH GRADE STUDENTS ABOUT WHERE THEIR FOOD AND FIBER COME FROM.
