To prepare single mothers for the challenges ahead by learning to face the world head-on with goals, good decisions, mentoring, a handle on budgeting and life-skill training.
Crossroads mission is to provide long-term transitional housing, mentoring, business and life-skill training to at-risk single mothers and their young children at their facility Crossroads Center of Hope.
Pre-Renovation: Because of the lockdown many homeowners were doing their own repairs and work which made it very hard on the contractors. We, however, were able to take advantage of that and our housemother's residence was put in the dry, the front apartment buildings trim, gables, dormers, and porch ceilings were completed and the house and building had permanent roofs installed by Christmas 2020.
Nurturing Skills for Families Parenting Class: In 2020 we were only able to do one class because of the lockdown and held the classes in our unfinished apartment building that has no doors or windows! We wore masks, spread out and it worked for all. There were no other classes being held in town and it was needed for these two families. The expense was for class workbooks and the revenue was payment for the workbook so they could keep them for future reference.
