THE CLUB CURRENTLY HAS 9 LOCATIONS IN JEFFERSON, SHELBY, ST CLAIR AND WALKER COUNTIES THAT SERVED 10,953 YOUTH IN 2019 AT CLUBS AND THROUGH COMMUNITY OUTREACH PROGRAMS. IN 2019, HEALTHY LIFESTYLES ACTIVITIES FOR 1973 UNDUPLICATED YOUTH. IN AN EFFORT TO COMBAT FOOD INSECURITY, BGCCA PROVIDED 2750 FREE MEALS EACH WEEK. 88% OF YOUTH REPORT GETTING 60 MINUTES OF PHYSICAL ACTIVITY 4 TIMES OR MORE EACH WEEK. 70% OF YOUTH REPORTED CONSUMING 3 SERVINGS OF FRUITS AND VEGETABLES PER DAY.
ACADEMIC SUCCESS PROGRAMS PREPARES YOUTH TO GRADUATE FROM HIGH SCHOOL READY FOR COLLEGE, TRADE SCHOOL, MILITARY, OR EMPLOYMENT. DURING 2019, 1564 UNDUPLICATED YOUTH RECEIVED ACADEMIC SUPPORT RANGING FROM COLLEGE VISITS, CAREER EXPLORATION, STEM ACTIVITIES AND DAILY HOMEWORK HELP. 99% OF YOUTH REPORTED THEY ARE ON TRACK TO GRADUATE ON TIME, 94% REPORTED THEIR GRADES ARE B OR BETTER, 83% REPORTED PARTICIPATING IN COLLEGE OR CAREER PREP.
CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMS PREPARES YOUTH TO BE AN ENGAGED CITIZEN, INVOLVED IN YOUR COMMUNITY, REGISTERED TO VOTE, AND MODEL STRONG CHARACTER. IN 2019, 1472 UNDUPLICATED YOUTH PARTICIPATED IN CHARACTER BUILDING ACTIVITIES SUCH AS ANTI-BULLYING, COMMUNITY SERVICE, MENTORING, YOUTH OF THE MONTH AND YOUTH OF THE YEAR. 95% OF YOUTH REPORT THEY CAN STAND UP FOR WHAT THEY BELIEVE IS RIGHT EVEN IF THEIR PEERS DISAGREE. 79% OF YOUTH VOLUNTEERED ONCE A MONTH AT THE CLUB OR IN THEIR COMMUNITY. 95% OF YOUTH REPORT THEY WANT EVERYONE TO FEEL IMPORTANT WHEN THEY WORK ON PROJECTS.
