Organizations Filed Purposes:
The Cultural and Educational Advancement Foundation, Incotporated, CEAF as it is commonly referred, exists for the sole puipose of improving the human condition through implementation and support of various community programs. These programs generate funds for scholarships; provide cultural enrich-ment and or financial support to the community irrespective of race, religion or natural origin. CEAF was organized for charitable puiposes, as determined by the Internal Revenue Service under exempt organizations as a 50lc3. CEAF accomplishes its mission through the support of corporations, individuals and groups who share the Foundation s interests and commitment to the community.
CEAF received $22,500 for scholarships to support students pursuing a college degree. There were 21 high school recipient and one college recipient.
The Cultural and Educational Advancement Foundation, Inc. (CEAF) partnered with Omicron Omega Chapter, Wells Fargo, Trinity Community Development Center, Inc., First Mortgage Bank, Leah Wiggins Agency of Farmers Insurance, Carmine Communications, Trinity Baptist Church, National Coalition of 100 Black Women (Birmingham Metro Chapter), Omega Psi Phi Fraternity - Alpha Phi Chapter, HABD, and the Birmingham Urban League for the Financial Empowerment Conference on August 22, 2020. It was a virtual conference held for the first time ever on the Zoom virtual platform. The theme was Smart Money Decisions: Your Pathway to Financial Freedom. More than 200 people attended the virtual conference on Saturday, August 22, 2020 from 9:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. The event was free to adults and college students. Eighty - seven to ninety-one percent of the attendees rated the conference above average to excellent. Conference quotes included: I attend every year. I really enjoyed the speakers this year. They were all very informative and high energy. The content was very thorough and useful to apply immediately. Another conference attendee said, I did not know what to expect by the conference being virtual but it surpassed my expectations. It was a great conference! One attendee captured the vibe by stating, Flawless and definitely a cohesive spirit of excellence. Conference attendees were very pleased with the virtual format, conference energy and engagement, and of course the high level content, presenters style and personalities.
CEAF began its partnership with the Alabama Dance Council for this event as a title sponsor in 2009. Members serve as volunteers. Dance Across Birmingham is a community celebration that offers a day of FREE dance classes!! No experience necessary! Styles range from hip-hop, belly dance, and praise dance to African dance, Latin dance and more, taught by local instructors and artistic directors of local dance companies.
