Organizations Filed Purposes:
To advance the art and science of medicine and to enhance the lives of all graduates by: fostering a collegial atmosphere among students, alumni, and faculty through publications and forums that present new medical knowledge, elicit discussion among physicians and medical students, and keep members informed of one another's professional activities; cooperating with The University of Alabama School of Medicine to achieve its highest goals as an institution of learning and as part of a teaching hospital; encouraging medical students to aspire to the highest ethical, professional, educational, and clincial standards, as well as to maintain the integrity of the physician/patient relationship; striving always for excellence in patient care and medical training; ensuring that funding be sustained, indeed increased, for medical training and research vital to the future of the medical profession.
The Association operates exclusively for the welfare and benefit of the University of Alabama School of Medicine. The Association seeks to assist in the development and support of a mutually beneficial relationship between the University of Alabama School of Medicine and its alumni.
The Association benefits the students of the University of Alabama School of Medicine through scholarships and awards, and financial assistance for students with emergency needs.
The Association benefits the students of the University of Alabama School of Medicine by supporting and hosting several student events. The Association provides students with the opportunity to interact with other students as well as network with alumni. The Association hosts many students events throughout the school year like pre-exam breakfasts, happy hours, lunch and learns and more. The Association recently renovated a student lounge to provide medical students an area to gather and study.
The annual Alumni Weekend is a gathering of University of Alabama School of Medicine alumni from around the world to reconnect, share their accomplishments, and attend lectures and presentations.
