Organizations Filed Purposes:
Montgomery Dragon Boats primary mission is to act as a fundraiser for qualified IRS 501-C-3 organizations of the Board odf Directors choosing through conducting Dragon Boat racing and/or Paddle Boat Racing at a festival which fosters the promotion of healthy living and leadership qualities among youths and adults.
MDBRF is a volunteer based organization didicated to promoting youth leadership and cultural diversity, fitness, and cultural heritage through the sport of dragon boating and paddle boarding.
This year the Gun Island Chute SUP Cup was the event that took place. This event is for stand up paddle board racers of all abilitiies. This event is hosted in conjunction with the Southern Stoke Racing Series. Participants paddle a 3 or 6 mile course on the Alabama River. The purpose of this event is to grow the sport of paddle boarding in Montgomery and to highlight Montgomerys section of the Alabama River. The Montgomery Dragon Boat Festival is the host of this event.
