MONTGOMERY EDUCATION FOUNDATION BELIEVES THAT ALL CHILDREN DESERVE A QUALITY EDUCATION. THE MISSION IS TO PROVIDE PROGRAMS THAT SUPPORT THE GROWTH OF OUR STUDENTS, SCHOOLS AND COMMUNITIES THROUGH PARTNERSHIP AND VOLUNTEERISM.
MONTGOMERY EDUCATION FOUNDATION PROVIDES RESOURCES AND PROGRAMS THAT SUPPORT ACADEMIC SUCCESS FOR PUBLIC SCHOOLS AND STUDENTS.
STARBASE: IS A HANDS ON LEARNING PROGRAM IN COORDINATION WITH MAXWELL AIR FORCE BASE TO RAISE INTEREST AND IMPROVE BOTH THE KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL SETS OF STUDENTS SPECIFICALLY IN THE AREAS OF SCIENCE, TECHNOLOGY, ENGINEERING AND MATHMATICS (STEM). THIS PROGRAM SERVES STUDENTS WHO ARE HISTORICALLY UNDER REPRESENTED IN STEM FEILDS, STUDENTS WHO LIVE IN URBAN COMMUNITIES, OR RURAL AREAS, WHO ARE SOCIOECONOMICALLY DISADVANTAGED OR PERFORM POORLY IN ACADEMICS.
SUMMER LEARNING PROGRAM: PROVIDES OPPORTUNITIES FOR CHILDREN TO EXPLORE, HAVE FUN, AND TO BUILD DEEPER RELATIONSHIPS WITH THEIR PEERS AND TEACHERS DURING THE SUMMER.
CHARTER SCHOOLS:WITH THE NEW ONSET OF THE CHARTER SCHOOOL CONVERSION BETWEEN MONTGOMERY EDUCATION FOUNDATION AND MONTGOMERY PUBLIC SCHOOLS, IT'S WHOLE PURPOSE AIMS TO ACCELERATE THE LEARNING OPPORTUNITIES FOR STUDENTS AT DAVIS ELEMENTARY, E.D. NIXON ELEMENTARY, AND BELLINGRATH MIDDLE SCHOOL.1) THE CONVERSION CONTRACT REQUIRES THAT EACH SCHOOL RISE FROM A FAILING REPORT CARD TO A C OR BEYOND IN 5 YEARS OR LESS. 2) THE ANNUAL LOSS OF STUDENTS NEGATIVELY AFFECTS SCHOOL FUNDING AND THEREFORE ALSO NEGATIVELY AFFECTS STUDENT LEARNING DUE TO ALLOCATED FUNDING DECREASING PER STUDENT. WITH THE CHARTER SCHOOL CONVERSION REGISTRATION AMONG FAMILIES FOR ENROLLMENT WAS OVER CAPACITY , TRANSLATING TO RETAINED FUNDING AND IMPROVED LEARNING RESULTS FOR MONTGOMERY PUBLIC SCHOOLS. 3) OVER 1,300 CHILDREN WILL BE IMPACTED BY THE CHARTER SCHOOL CONVERSION WITH STUDENTS HAVING THE PROMISE OF A HIGHER PERFORMING ENVIRONMENT FROM KINDERGARTEN THROUGH 8TH GRADE.
