To provide and connect resources in Western Douglas County, Nebraska for those whose needs are temporarily greater than their means.
The organization partners with the Western Douglas County Food Pantry to provide food pantries to families in need. A total of 1533 Food Pantries were provided to clients during 2019 at a value of $118,600. We also partner with area grocery stores from whom we collect, store and distribute other perishable food stuffs and grocery items to clients 1974 times for a total value of $62,955.
COPE provided school supplies and backpacks and Christmas gifts for its client families. The program served 91 individuals with school backpacks for a total of $5268. COPE served 502 individuals in 129 client families providing Christmas gifts for a total of $32,500.
The organization provided or arranged for financial assistance to 108 clients in the form of utility and rental assistance and gym memberships with payments being made directly to the providers during 2019 in total amounts of $13,645.74 coming from COPE. An additional $9,560.73 was provided directly from the utility company common funds for utility assistance for clients through COPE referrals for a total of $23,206.56 in financial assistance.
