Cultivating a vibrant network of artists who create community and impact culture, including the following:Musical Mentors - The (402) Arts Collective was created with the primary goal and function to provide an inroad into the real creative arts fabric of Omaha, and make those producing the art able to connect with the under served communities across all demographics of the city. Also, in the same fashion provide a way for the "typical" society member to gain access to high quality art education, coaching, and mentorship; as well as a venue to learn, create, and perform. This is why Musical Mentors are so important to the growth of the creative culture in any city, and especially our city. Every musical mentor/artist who wants to join the Collective as an educator/mentor has, and will be background checked and drug screened. It is to the utmost importance that not only do we provide the best art education we can, but also the safest for todays youth. Rock Academy - During the 8 week program you + band members meet weekly at our professional rehearsal studio to work with one of our seasoned coaches. At the end of each semester bands perform on stage at a concert open to the public! Street Beats is a collection of drummers within the (402) Arts Collective, coming together to create a visually appealing, highly energetic form of drumming, using only unorthodox forms of percussion. Buckets, trash cans, stools, lids, and pretty much anything you can find in a kitchen is what Street Beats uses to put on a show. Street Beats is extremely excited about sharing their gifts with the Omaha community, and plan on being heavily involved in the local school and church community. The Arts Education Connection program provided by the (402) Arts Collective is designed to facilitate the connection between students of art and teachers of art. The AEC program provides arts education to public, private, and home schools across the Omaha area. Many arts programs are being downsized and in some cases, even cut from school programing. Our hope is through this program, we will be able to provide a tangible resource for these schools, parents and students to find high quality art instruction. As the network of professional artists grow in the (402) Arts Collective, the greater resources we can provide to both young and old students who seek to learn and grow their craft.
