GOODWILL OPERATES 17 RETAIN STORES OPEN TO THE PUBLIC IN OMAHA (10), FREMONT (1), BLAIR (1), GRETNA (1), BELLEVUE (1), PAPILLION (2), AND COUNCIL BLUFFS, IA (1). THE GENERAL PUBLIC DONATES CLOTHING, FURNITURE AND HOUSEHOLD GOODS TO GOODWILL. GOODWILL EMPLOYEES SORT, PRICE AND DISTRIBUTE MERCHANDISE FOR SALE IN THE RETAIL STORES. MERCHANDISE THAT DOES NOT SELL WITHIN A REASONABLE TIME IN THE STORES IS TRANFERRED TO THE GOODWILL WEARHOUSE STORE WHERE IT IS OFFERED FOR SALE AT A SPECIFICIED PRICE PER POUND. GOOD DETERMINED NOT TO BE SALEABLE IN THE GOODWILL STORES ARE "SALVAGED AND SOLD TO THIRD PARTIES, WHO EITHER SHIP AND SELL THE GOODS TO THIRD PARTIES OR RECYCLE THEM FOR THEIR TEXTILE, METAL OR OTHER RECYCLABLE MATERIALS. GOODWILL PROFITS GENERATED FROM THE SALE OF DONATED GOODS HELP COVER EXPENSES ASSOCIATED WITH GOODWILL'S MISSION PROGRAMS THAT SERVE THE COMMUNITY.
WORKFORCE DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM SERVICES- GOODWILL PROVIDES EDUCATIONAL AND CAREER SERVICES, JOB PLACEMENT AND POST-EMPLOYMENT SUPPORT TO INDIVIDUALS WITH DISABILITIES AND OTHER CHALLENGES TO EMPLOYMENT SO THEY CAN FIND AND KEEP JOBS. INDIVIDUALS RECEIVE TRAINING AND EDUCATION, WORK EXPERIENCE, EMPLOYMENT PLACEMENT AND FOLLOW-UP SERVICES THROUGH THESE PROGRAMS. GOODWILL PROGRAMS STRENGTHEN OUR COMMUNITY BY FORMING A PATHWAY TOWARDS SUCCESS FOR THOSE WHO HAVE NOT BEEN ABLE TO FINE OR MAINTAIN EMPLOYMENT ON THEIR OWN.
CONTRACTS/INDUSTRIAL SERVICES PROGRAMS- GOODWILL PROVIDES JOB TRAINING AND EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITIES FOR PEOPLE WITH DISABILITIES AND OTHER CHALLENGES TO EMPLOYMENT THROUGH CONTRACT WORK FOR BUSINESSES, FEDERAL, STATE AND LOCAL GOVERNMENT, AND OTHER COMMUNITY PARTNERS. THESE CONTRACTS OFFER A VARIETY OF WORK EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING IN CUSTODIAL SERVICES, GROUNDS, MANUFACTURING, PACKAGING, ASSEMBLY, RECYCLING, MAILING SERVICES AND OTHER ADMINISTRATIVE AREAS.
