EducationThe Center for Contemporary Art offers a full range of virtual and in person studio classes and workshops taught by professional teaching artists year-round in a variety of media including oils, acrylic and watercolor, pastel, wheel and hand-built ceramics, Gouache, watercolor, pen and ink, drawing, sculpture, photography and mixed media. Courses are multi-level and designed for all ages, levels of experience, and ability. Week-long summer art camps are offered July-August, in person and with hybrid options (students participate both virtually and in person), as well as art camps for children with special needs.

ExhibitionsThe Center for Contemporary Art presents both in person and virtual rotating high quality exhibitions of contemporary art by emerging, mid-career and under-represented artists in a variety of media and subject matter. The Center's members and students and Somerset County school children also benefit from annual exhibition opportunities. An annual International Juried Exhibition awards cash prizes and solo exhibition awards. Virtual opening receptions and artist studio visits round out the program. Gallery admission is by suggested donation and exhibitions are fully-accessible.

OutreachThe Center for Contemporary Art recognizes the diversity of its community's abilities and needs and is committed to enabling all visitors to experience the benefits of arts education. Outreach programs are designed in response to specific needs and provide an outlet for creative expression in a safe, supportive setting. Six year-round programs serve children with Autism Spectrum Disorder and other special needs, homeless teens, youth in recovery from substance abuse, adults with disabilities, people affected by cancer, and senior citizens. The ceramics studio also includes the areas only wheelchair-accessible pottery wheel.
