ONE OF THE MAJOR PLAN COMPONENTS WAS A DEVELOPMENT THAT DESIGNATED 100% OF ITS UNITS FOR HOUSEHOLDS AT LEAST 55 YEARS OR OLDER. COMMUNITY RESIDENT'S INCOME RESTRICTED TO THOSE WHO EARN NO MORE THAN 50% OF THE CAMDEN COUNTY MEDIAN HOUSEHOLD INCOME. THE DEVELOPMENT CONSISTED OF 77 ONE & TWO BEDROOM APARTMENTS FOR LOW INCOME SENIOR CITIZENS. ADDITIONALLY, ANTIOCH CDC DECLARED LOANS OF 198,400 FROM ANTIOCH CHURCH AS UNCOLLECTIBLE DUE TO HARDSHIP.

BOOKSTORE DEDICATED TO CULTIVATING READERS,IN PART BY OFFERING FREE LITERARY ACTIVITIES, WORKSHOPS AND A SUMMER READING PROGRAM. ACTIVITIES WILL BE PLANNED TO INCREASE EARLY LITERACY AND PROMOTE FAMILY LITERACY ACTIVITIES: STORYTELLING; CHILDREN AND YOUNG ADULT AUTHOR VISITS AND BOOK READINGS; CITYWIDE YOUTH POETRY/SPOKEN WORD PROGRAMS; AND ARTS ENRICHMENT ACTIVITIES. BOOKSTORE PROGRAM AIMED AT ENGAGING READERS AND HELPING FOSTER A BETTER COMMUNITY THROUGH EDUCATION.

SPONSORED VARIOUS ACTIVITIES AND EVENTS GEARED TOWARDS YOUTH TO PROVIDE RECREATIONAL AND EDUCATIONAL OPPORTUNITIES. CAMDEN, NEW JERSEY SUFFERS FROM CRIME, HIGH UNEMPLOYMENT, AND OTHER NEGATIVE SOCIAL AND ECONOMIC FACTORS THAT HAVE HAD A DEVASTATING EFFECT ON THE CITY'S 20,000 SCHOOL CHILDREN. RESEARCH SUGGESTS THAT DELAYING A CHILD'S FIRST USE OF ALCOHOL, TOBACCO, AND ILLICIT DRUGS CAN REDUCE THE RISK OF LATER ABUSE. THESE TARGETED ACTIVITIES STRIVE TO CONNECT PEOPLE AND RESOURCES WITH EFFECTIVE AND INNOVATIVE PROGRAMS AIMED AT REDUCING SUBSTANCE ABUSE AND JUVENILE DELINQUENCY IN THE COMMUNITY.
