THE MISSION OF JOSEPH'S HOUSE IS TO WORK COLLABORATIVELY WITH OTHERS TO AID OUR HOMELESS BROTHERS AND SISTERS BY OFFERING A CONTINUUM OF SERVICES INCLUDING EMERGENCY SHELTER AND ACCESS TO SUPPORTIVE HOUSING AND COMPREHENSIVE SOCIAL SERVICES.
In 2019 JH provided shelter and life-changing services to 588 individuals. This translated into 23,135 bed nights. During 2019, JH operated its nightly shelter at 100% capacity. We served 42,272 meals and provided year-round daily and nightly access to showers and laundry, while providing all personal hygiene products for shelter guests. Case management services were also provided to each individual.day services:Throughout 2019 JH provided vital services such as securing personal identification and connection to mainstream services like medical care, mental health and substance abuse services, veterans services, employment and housing services. Targeted referrals to professional care providers were 3,496 for more than 500 individuals. 97 people secured employment and 190 were housed in 2019 and are no longer homeless.In October 2019 JH opened its new Day Program and Connection Hub which brings under one roof all the human services needed to end homelessness. Community professionals team with JH staff to coordinate and collaborate on delivering services to the most vulnerable in the Camden community.
