The mission of the Animal Shelter is to provide a No Kill environment for cats and dogs..
The Cape May County Welfare Society besides providing a No Kill environment for its cats and dogs and a Medical Cost Assistance Subsidy Program enabling county residents to keep their pets at home, has spent over 150,000 in the past two years to upgrade and build facilities for its cats and dogs. These upgraded and new facilities include air purification systems, free roaming rooms for cats, new outdoor fencing that allow dogs space for running and socializing, and new modern and spacious dog kennels. The animal shelter also plans additional expenditures of about 80,000 for new upgraded facilities l allowing them to accomodate more cats and dogs. The humane treatment of cats and dogs, while awaiting adoption, is a prime objective of the animal shelter.
