TO PROVIDE EMERGENCY MEDICAL CARE TO THE RESIDENTS OF GLEN ROCK AND THE SURRONDING MUTUAL AID COMMUNITY.
Since responding to its first call on September 2, 1951, the members of the Glen Rock Volunteer Ambulance Corps (GRVAC) have provided emergency first aid and ambulance transportation to Glen Rock residents 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. Ranging in age from 16 to 70 years old, members of the all volunteer squad undergo 240 hours of training prior to becoming certified as State of New Jersey Emergency Medical Technicians. Members responded to approximately 650 emergencies in two state-of-the-art ambulances and a first responder vehicle. The GRVAC also provides mutual aid support to neighboring towns, "stand-by" support at structural fires to support the Glen Rock Volunteer Fire Department, as well as stand-by support at many community functions, such as football games, parades and town fairs.
DURING THE CURRENT YEAR, THE ORGANIZATION RESPONDED TO OVER 650 EMERGENCY CALLS FROM RESIDENTS AND MUTUAL AID TOWNS FOR EMERGENCY MEDICAL SERVICES.
