ITS WORK INFORMS NATIONAL HEALTH POLICY AND HELPS TRANSLATE POLICY INTO ACTION IN STATES ACROSS THE COUNTRY. ITS WORK IS ORGANIZED UNDER THREE PRIORITIES: DELIVERY SYSTEM AND PAYMENT REFORM, INTEGRATED SERVICES FOR PEOPLE WITH COMPLEX NEEDS, AND LEADERSHIP AND CAPACITY BUILDING.
COMPLEX POPULATIONS: CHCS IS SUPPORTING PRACTICAL AND COST-EFFECTIVE SOLUTIONS TO ENSURE THAT ALL MEDICAID BENEFICIARIES WITH COMPLEX PHYSICAL, BEHAVIORAL, AND SOCIAL SERVICE NEEDS ARE SERVED BY PERSON-CENTERED SYSTEMS OF CARE. THROUGH DIRECT TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE, COLLABORATIVE LEARNING FORUMS, AND PILOT DEMONSTRATIONS, WE WORK WITH THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT, MULTIPLE STATE AGENCIES, HEALTH PLANS, PROVIDERS, AND CONSUMER ORGANIZATIONS TO PROMOTE BETTER WAYS TO ORGANIZE, FINANCE, AND DELIVER CARE.
DELIVERY SYSTEM AND PAYMENT REFORM: CHCS IS HELPING MEDICAID STAKEHOLDERS LEVERAGE THEIR PURCHASING POWER TO DRIVE IMPROVEMENTS IN HEALTH CARE QUALITY, COST EFFECTIVENESS AND ADVANCE HEALTH. WE ARE SUPPORTING STATES PLANS, ACOS AND OTHERS IN DESIGNING AND IMPLEMENTING COMPREHENSIVE, STATEWIDE MULTI-PAYER DELIVERY SYSTEM AND PAYMENT REFORMS THAT REWARD QUALITY AND SEEK TO IMPROVE POPULATION HEALTH.
LEADERSHIP AND CAPACITY BUILDING: MEDICAID PLAYS A CRITICAL ROLE IN THE NATIONAL HEALTH SYSTEM IN TERMS OF EXPANDING ACCESS TO APPROPRIATE SERVICES, IMPROVING HEALTH CARE QUALITY, AND CONTROLLING COSTS.
