180, Turning Lives Around, is a private, non-profit organization dedicated to ending domestic and sexual violence in our community.
Residential Services: - Domestic Violence Emergency Shelter - the safe house can shelter twelve families at any given time, with specialized services that specifically address the needs of the children in the shelter. The new shelter was completed in early 2016. - Hotline - an emergency hotline/referral service is available 24 hours for domestic violence. - Transitional Housing & Keeping Families Together (KFT)- offers comprehensive support services coupled with housing vouchers to provide stability and long-term recovery.
Youth Services: - Amanda's Easel - an art therapy program for children and their non-offending parent/guardian affected by domestic violence. - 2ND Floor Youth Helpline - is a toll free telephone helpline and website for children and adolescents to call with their day to day concerns. Trained listeners encourage discussion and provide support, referrals and practical guidance. The program became statewide in 2008-2009.
Outreach Services: - Outreach Counseling - provides supportive individual and/or group counseling for domestic violence, incest, sexual assault, divorce and separation, at localized off-site programs, including programs at Long Branch and our center in Hazlet. - Family and Municipal Court Liaison - provides technical assistance and crisis intervention services for domestic violence victims on site at Freehold Family Court and some municipal courts. - Rape Care Program - the program provides a 24 hour hotline and crisis accompaniment at area hospitals,police and the courts. Supportive counseling, education and training of allied professionals is also provided.
