In the 2018-19 school year, LTEF awarded grants totaling more than $263,000 for 70 innovative programs and projects to enhance the quality of teaching and learning in the Lawrence Township Public School district. Grants funded included mental health training for all LTPS school counselors, digital music programs, iPads to 2nd grade classrooms, sensory materials to help improve student focus, Google Expeditions and a replenishment of materials for the sensory lending library, new wireless microphones in the LMS auditorium, equipment and materials for students to produce their own spirit gear, and a field trip. Lawrence High School students received alternative seating options to increase student focus and reduce behavioral issues and new headset microphones to enhance theater performances. Finally, $100,000 was invested in a new STEAM and Media Center at Slackwood Elementary School.
