PHYSICAL THERAPY- PATIENTS RECEIVING INPATIENT PHYSICAL THERAPY AT MORRIS HALL - ST. LAWRENCE, INC. HAVE MANY DIFFERENT MEDICAL CIRCUMSTANCES - FROM JOINT REPLACEMENT SURGERIES TO FRACTURES, FROM STROKES TO BRAIN INJURIES. THE PATIENT IS EVALUATED BY DIFFERENT THERAPISTS IN AREAS THAT ARE SPECIFIC TO HIS/HER INJURY. TREATMENT IS PROVIDED USING STATE-OF-THE-ART EQUIPMENT FROM CERTIFIED THERAPISTS TRAINED IN THE MOST RECENT TECHNOLOGIES AVAILABLE IN THE MEDICAL COMMUNITY. OCCUPATIONAL THERAPY- OUR STAFF WORKS WITH A VARIETY OF ADULTS WITH DIFFERENT MEDICAL CONDITIONS. THESE CONDITIONS MAY BE ORTHOPEDIC, NEUROLOGICAL, COGNITIVE, AND/OR VISUAL DEFICITS. PATIENTS ARE PROVIDED WITH MEANINGFUL ACTIVITIES SUCH AS SELF CARE TASKS, HOMEMAKING OR OTHER OCCUPATIONS WHERE THE PATIENTS LEARN NEW STRATEGIES, TECHNIQUES OR ADAPTATIONS TO ACHIEVE MAXIMAL INDEPENDENCE. FOR CONTINUED CARE, SOME PATIENTS MAY BENEFIT FROM OUTPATIENT SERVICES. SPEECH THERAPY- AFTER UNDERGOING A COMPLETE DIAGNOSTIC ASSESSMENT, EACH PATIENT BEGINS A PROGRAM THAT INCLUDES WORK IN THE AREAS OF VERBAL EXPRESSION, COMPREHENSION, MEMORY, READING, WRITING AND ORIENTATION. TREATMENT PLANS TAKE INTO ACCOUNT EACH PATIENTS' PRIOR LEVEL OF INTEREST AND FUNCTION TOGETHER WITH CURRENT CONCERNS, AND GOALS ARE DISCUSSED WITH THE PATIENT AND FAMILY MEMBERS.
