Organizations Filed Purposes:
TO FOSTER THE UNDERSTANDING, CULTIVATION, AND APPRECIATION OF AMERICA'S PAST BY PRESENTING AND INTERPRETING THE HISTORY, CULTURE AND LIVES OF THE INHABITANTS OF NEW JERSEY FROM ITS EARLIEST SETTLEMENT TO THE PRESENT DAY.
THE PURPOSE OF THE MUSEUM IS TO PROVIDE EDUCATIONAL ACTIVITIES COVERING PRE-INDUSTRIAL CRAFTSMEN, THEIR TOOLS AND THEIR WORKS.
EXHIBITS ARE CREATED AND DISPLAYED AT THE MUSEUM SUCH AS THE FOLLOWING WHICH OCCURRED DURING CALENDAR YEAR 2019: SWEET TREATS: DESSERTS & DELICACIES FROM THE GARDEN STATE; SURVEYING THE NEW JERSEY LANDSCAPE; AND A NEW PERMANENT EXHIBIT, WORKING THE LAND: LIFE, FAMILY AND CHANGE IN EARLY 1800S NEW JERSEY. ALL OF THESE EXHIBITS INTERPRETED THE HISTORY OF NEW JERSEY AS IT RELATED TO THE SPECIFIC TOPICS. IN ADDITION, THE MUSEUM HAS TWO FLOORS OF PERMANENT EXHIBITS. OUR ON-GOING EDUCATIONAL AND PUBLIC PROGRAMS SUPPORT THE THEMES AND NARRATIVES PRESENTED IN OUR PERMANENT AND CHANGING EXHIBITS.
THE MUSEUM OFFERS EDUCATIONAL AND INFORMATIVE PROGRAMS FOR CHILDREN, ADULTS AND FAMILIES YEAR-ROUND. EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMS ARE MISSION BASED, INTERPRETIVE, OFFER SOCIAL INTERACTION, AND PROVIDE OPPORTUNITIES FOR COLLABORATIVE LEARNING. OUR PROGRAMS SUPPORT THE THEMES AND NARRATIVES PRESENTED IN OUR EXHIBITS.
