Organizations Filed Purposes: FAMILY PROMISE OF ESSEX, INC. (FP) MISSION IS TO HELP HOMELESS AND AT-RISK FAMILIES ACHIEVE SELF-SUFFICIENCY BY PROVIDING SHELTER, SOCIAL SERVICES AND HOUSING ASSISTANCE THROUGH A COMMUNITY-BASED APPROACH.

INTERFAITH HOSPITALITY NETWORK OF ESSEX COUNTY IS DEDICATED TO PROVIDING SHELTER, DIRECT SERVICES AND HOUSING ASSISTANCE TO HOMELESS AND "AT RISK" FAMILIES WITH HELP FROM AN EXTENSIVE NETWORK OF VOLUNTEERS AND OTHER PARTNERS THROUGHOUT THE COMMUNITY.

IN 2019, 569 INDIVIDUALS (OVER 153 FAMILIES) BENEFITED FROM FP'S PROGRAMS INCUDING: EMERGENCY SHELTER, CONSISTING OF 38+ CONGREGATIONS AND OVER 800 VOLUNTEERS PROVIDING SHELTER, MEALS, AND HOSPITALITY ANNUALLY; THE HOME FOR GOOD PROGRAM, A RENTAL, RELOCATION AND CASE MANAGEMENT HOUSING SUPPORT SERVICE; AND THE YOUTH AFTER SCHOOL PROGRAM, A FREE TUTORING AND ENRICHMENT PROGRAM FOR K-12 CHILDREN FROM THE IHN SHELTER AND HOUSING PROGRAMS. IHN STAFF CONSISTS OF 4 FULL TIME AND 3 PART TIME EMPLOYEES.THE SHELTER PROGRAM PROVIDED 16 HOMELESS FAMILIES /60 INDIVIDUALS (62% WERE CHILDREN UNDER 18 YEARS OF AGE) WITH 52 WEEKS OF SHELTER AND 13,716 MEALS. MEANWHILE THE FAMILIES MET WEEKLY WITH CASE MANAGER AT THE FAMILY RESOURCE CENTER TO DEVELOP A PLAN TO SECURE JOBS & HOUSING.

FP HOMELESS PREVENTION - HOME FOR GOOD PROGRAM PROVIDED 484 PEOPLE FROM 137 ESSEX FAMILIES WITH BACK RENT, UTILITY, RELOCATION SECURITY DEPOSITS, FOOD, CASE MANAGEMENT AND OTHER NEEDED SERVICES TO PREVENT HOMELESSNESS. ADDITIONALLY IHN PROVIDED ONGOING CASE MANAGEMENT TO 110 PARENTS AND CHILDREN IN PERMANENT SERVICE-ENRICHED AFFORDABLE HOUSING UNITS IN ORANGE AND SURROUNDING COMMUNITIES, THROUGH A PARTNERSHIP WITH AFFORDABLE HOUSING DEVELOPERS.

EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMS- THE AFTER SCHOOL TUTORING AND ENRICHMENT PROGRAM PROVIDED 25 CHILDREN FROM IHN CLIENT FAMILIES WITH: TUTORING, ENRICHMENT ACTIVITIES, FIELD TRIPS, HEALTHY LIVING ACTIVITIES, CAMP AND HOLIDAY EVENTS/PARTIES THROUGHOUT THE YEAR. IHN ALSO PROVIDED 16 ADULT WORKSHOPS AND INDIVIDUAL JOB COACHING FOR 30 INDIVIDUAL CLIENTS TO IMPROVE THEIR JOB READINESS, BUDGETING SKILLS, IMPROVE THEIR CREDIT, AND LEARN ABOUT TENANT /LANDLORD RELATIONS.
