in 2019, the next step workforce development program served 128 Workfirst Nj and Breaking the Cycle (Re-Entry)clients. the client population was divided across 6 training areas: 1) Beginner Adult Education, 2) Special Needs - Adult Basic Education (SOAR), 3) WIOA-Youth, 4) Vocational Culinary, 5) Energy Efficient Building Maintenance, 6) Intensive Supervision/High School Diploma Completion Program.
in 2019, the spcdc americorps program and its members build capacity for future growth and served day to day to accomplish the objectives of the agency. the program hired and placed 30 members who provided 20,993 hours of community service time with spcdc and our non-profit partner agencies. Members who successfully completed their terms of service earned $40,794.60 in education awards.
In 2019, the Emergency Men's Shelter served 48 homeless men, providing 9,800 shelter bed nights and 17,475 meals. there are currently 30 volunteer groups representing houses of worship and civic organizations that prepare and serve in-kind meals througout the year. Through the case management process, shelter residents were able to access 3,700 hours of counseling.
