JEWISH RENAISSANCE COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT CORPORATION, INC. (THE CORPORATION) IS FUNCTIONING IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE TITLE II OF THE CRANSTON-GONZALEZ NATIONAL AFFORDABLE HOUSING ACT OF 1990 AS AN AUTHORIZED STATE-DESIGNATED COMMUNITY HOUSING DEVELOPMENT ORGANIZATION ("CHDO") TO PROVIDE THE SUPPLY OF DECENT AFFORDABLE HOUSING FOR LOW AND MODERATE INCOME PERSONS AND HOUSEHOLDS THROUGHOUT THE STATE OF NEW JERSEY. THE CORPORATION WORKS WITH THE BENEFICIARIES (LOW-INCOME AND MODERATE PERSONS)WHO ARE INVOLVED IN DECISIONS REGARDING THE DESIGN, SITING, DEVELOPMENT AND MANAGEMENT OF AFFORDABLE HOUSING BY PROVIDING INPUT INTO THE PROCESS.
JRF - NRTC SUBCONTRACTSINCE 2015 WHEN THE MEMORANDUM OF AGREEMENT WAS SIGNED WITH THE JEWISH RENAINASSANCE FOUNDATION, CORPORATION BECAME JRF'S IMPLEMENTING AGENCY OF THE NEIGHBORHOOD REVITALIZATION TAX CREDIT (NRTC) PROGRAM. NRTC IS DESIGNED TO FOSTER REVITALIZATION OF NEW JERSEY'S DISTRESSED NEIGHBORHOODS.
DURING FISCAL YEAR 2014-2015, THE CORPORATION ACQUIRED AND REHABILITATED HOUSING PROPERTIES LOCATED AT 751 LEE STREET, AND 439 JOHNSTONE STREET IN PERTH AMBOY, NEW JERSEY. THE PROPERTY WAS ACQUIRED THROUGH A FEDERAL HOME PROJECT GRANT FUNDED BY THE U.S. DEPARTMENT OF HOUSING AND URBAN DEVELOPMENT, AND FROM NRTC. THE REHABILITATION COSTS WERE FUNDED THROUGH A SECURED MORTGAGE FROM AMBOY BANK.
