MISSION: THE IEEE FOUNDATION INSPIRES AN ENGAGED COMMUNITY AND LEVERAGES THE GENEROSITY OF DONORS TO ENABLE IEEE PROGRAMS THAT ENHANCE TECHNOLOGY ACCESS, LITERACY, AND EDUCATION AND SUPPORTS THE IEEE PROFESSIONAL COMMUNITY
The IEEE Foundation, the philanthropic partner of IEEE, provided US$4.6 Million to enable IEEE programs that transform lives through the power of technology and education.
ENERGIZE: innovation by celebrating technological excellence through the presentation of recognitions to hundreds of individuals for life-transforming work. Programs include IEEE Awards (medals, awards and service recognitions), IEEE-Eta Kappa Nu, the honor society of IEEE, IEEE Awards, and IEEE Foundation Grants Program which awards project funding to IEEE groups for innovative activities designed to raise awareness of the importance of technology to society.
EDUCATE: the next generation of innovators and engineers by nourishing students through academic opportunities such as scholarships, fellowships, travel grants and mentoring and introducing pre-university students to STEM and the history of technology through delivery of classroom curriculum, hands-on experiences, library science kits and interactive workshops. Programs include IEEE PES Scholarship Plus Initiative, IEEE REACH (Raising Engineering Awards through the Conduit of History), Try Engineering Summer Institute and Science Kits for Public Libraries.
ILLUMINATE: the possibilities of technology by using it to address global challenges through delivery and deployment of innovative sustainable projects that bring electricity, communication, education and hope throughout the world. Programs include IEEE Smart Village, EPICS in IEEE, IEEE-USA MOVE, Empower a Billion Lives and IEEE SIGHT.
