Organizations Filed Purposes: WE ARE A NON-PROFIT ORGANIZATION HELPING PASTORS AND LEADERSHIP TEAMS WHO ARE GROWING VIBRANT CATHOLIC PARISHES. WE SERVE AS A PLATFORM FOR CREATIVE IDEAS IN PARISH MINISTRY THAT WILL INSPIRE THE DEVOUT, RE-ENGAGE THOSE WHO HAVE TURNED AWAY FROM THE CHURCH, AND DRAW OTHERS TO THE JOY OF THE CATHOLIC FAITH FOR THE FIRST TIME.

PARISH CATALYST ENCOURAGES CATHOLIC PASTORS AND PARISH LEADERS TO THINK CREATIVELY AND ACT COURAGEOUSLY IN ORDER TO RENEW THE CHURCH. WE DO THIS THROUGH LEARNING COMMUNITIES, ON-SITE WORKSHOPS, WEBINARS AND PRESENTATIONS.1. LEARNING COMMUNITIESTHE HEART OF PARISH CATALYST'S WORK IS ITS LEARNING COMMUNITIES OF PASTORAL LEADERS. PARISH CATALYST IDENTIFIES PASTORS ACROSS THE COUNTRY WHO ARE SERVING VIBRANT CATHOLIC PARISHES AND WHO ARE EAGER TO GROW THEIR PARISHES IN INNOVATIVE WAYS. THESE PASTORS AND KEY MEMBERS OF THEIR LEADERSHIP TEAMS ARE RECRUITED TO JOIN LEARNING COMMUNITIES, WHICH CONSIST OF NO MORE THAN 12 PARISHES. PARTICIPANTS MEET FOUR TIMES OVER EIGHTEEN MONTHS. EACH OF THE FOUR SESSIONS IS TIGHTLY ORGANIZED WITH SPEAKERS, FACILITATION, AND EXERCISES. THE PROCESS ALLOWS TIME FOR PARISHES TO CAPITALIZE ON ONE ANOTHER'S INSIGHTS AND LIVED EXPERIENCES, IGNITING NEW IDEAS AND STRATEGIES FOR PARISH MINISTRY.THE THEME OF EACH LEARNING COMMUNITY IS DYNAMIC DISCIPLESHIP. PARISH TEAMS ARE ENCOURAGED TO VIEW THEIR MINISTRIES, FIRST THROUGH THE LENS OF DISCIPLESHIP. THIS THEME CARRIES THROUGH ALL OF OUR LEARNING COMMUNITIES, SOME OF WHICH FOCUS SPECIFICALLY ON MINISTRY TO YOUNG ADULTS, SOME ON MINISTRY TO MULTI-CULTURAL PARISHES, AND SOME ON GENERAL PARISH DISCIPLESHIP.NEXT GENERATION DISCIPLESHIP LEARNING COMMUNITIES (FORMERLY MILLENNIAL DISCIPLESHIP) ARE DESIGNED TO ENCOURAGE A CULTURE OF WELCOMING AND RADICAL HOSPITALITY THAT MAKES A PARISH A MORE HOSPITABLE PLACE FOR YOUNG ADULTS AND THE UNCHURCHED.MULTICULTURAL DISCIPLESHIP LEARNING COMMUNITIES ENCOURAGES APPROACHES TO PARISH LEADERSHIP THAT CALL FOR A UNIFIED SPIRIT WHILE AT THE SAME TIME APPRECIATING THE CULTURAL DIVERSITY OF A COMMUNITY.IN 2019, WE HOSTED FIVE LEARNING COMMUNITY SESSIONS WHOSE PARISHES SERVE A TOTAL OF 383,110 SOULS. THE SCHEDULE WAS AS FOLLOWS: DYNAMIC DISCIPLESHIP 4 WITH FOCUS ON MULTI-CULTURAL PARISHES (SESSION TWO - JANUARY 14-16, 2019)NEXT GENERATION DISCIPLESHIP 3 (FOURTH SESSION - FEBRUARY 11-13, 2019)DYNAMIC DISCIPLESHIP 5 (FIRST SESSION - APRIL 29-MAY 1, 2019)DYNAMIC DISCIPLESHIP 4 WITH A FOCUS ON MULTI-CULTURAL PARISHES (THIRD SESSION - JULY 15-17, 2019)DYNAMIC DISCIPLESHIP 5 (SECOND SESSION - OCTOBER 7-9, 2019)2. PARISH ON-SITE WORKSHOPSAS A RESULT OF A NEED THAT EMERGED FROM OUR LEARNING COMMUNITIES, IN 2017, PARISH CATALYST BEGAN TO TEST A SITE VISIT PROGRAM. PARISH CATALYST PERSONNEL, ON AN AS-REQUESTED BASIS, AND FOR AN ADDITIONAL FEE, TRAVELED TO LEARNING COMMUNITY PARISHES TO PROVIDE WORKSHOPS FOR MEMBERS OF THE PARISH LEADERSHIP TEAM AND OTHERS WHO WERE UNABLE TO COME TO LOS ANGELES TO PARTICIPATE IN THE LEARNING COMMUNITY ITSELF. THESE SITE VISITS HAVE PROVED TO BE EXTREMELY HELPFUL IN ADVANCING THE STRATEGIC PLANS DEVELOPED IN LEARNING COMMUNITIES, AND CONSEQUENTLY, WERE CONTINUED IN 2019.IN ADDITION, PARISH CATALYST STAFF CONDUCTED WORKSHOPS FOR PARISHES THAT ARE NOT YET MEMBERS OF A LEARNING COMMUNITY AS A WAY OF INTRODUCING PARISHES TO OUR WORK.IN 2019 WE DID 10 ON-SITES.
