Organizations Filed Purposes: CJL OPERATED FOR THE ENTIRE FALL SEMESTER AND 6 WEEKS OF SPRING SEMESTER ON CAMPUS. BEGINNING MARCH 13, 2020, ALL STUDENTS AND STAFF LEFT CAMPUS DUE TO COVID-19 RESTRICTIONS AND CJL PROGRAMMING CONTINUED ON A VIRTUAL PLATFORM.

TO PARTNER WITH STUDENTS AND OTHER MEMBERS OF THE PRINCETON COMMUNITY TO SUSTAIN AND GROW A WELCOMING, MULTI-FACETED, AND PLURALISTIC JEWISH COMMUNITY THAT IS INTEGRATED INTO THE FABRIC OF CAMPUS LIFE. TO MAKE JUDAISM SPEAK TO STUDENT'S LIVES BY PROVIDING A CUSTOMIZED MEANINGFUL JEWISH EXPERIENCE.

IMMERSIVE TRAVEL EXPERIENCESCJL ENGAGES STUDENTS WITH DIVERSE BACKGROUNDS THROUGH ITS IMMERSIVE TRAVEL EXPERIENCES. THREE MAJOR CJL TRIPS WERE OFFERED IN FY20: OUR 5TH INSIDE ISRAEL TRIP WITH AMBASSADOR (RET.) DANIEL KURTZER; A STUDENT-INITIATED ISRAEL TIGER TREK THAT EXPLORED THE COUNTRY'S UNIQUE POSITION AS A GLOBAL LEADER IN TECHNOLOGY AND INNOVATION; AND A BIRTHRIGHT EXTENSION THAT ENABLED PARTICIPANTS TO EXAMINE ISRAELI-PALESTINIAN RELATIONS MORE DEEPLY. IN ADDITION TO THESE EXPERIENCES, STUDENTS PLANNED TWO FALL ALTERNATIVE BREAK TRIPS TO NEW HAMPSHIRE (MINDFULNESS HIKING TRIP) AND NEW MEXICO (MUSLIM-JEWISH DIALOGUE EXPERIENCE). A TOTAL OF 75 STUDENTS PARTICIPATED IN FY20 CJL TRIPS. PARTICIPANTS IN THESE CORNERSTONE PROGRAMS OF CJL'S COMPREHENSIVE EDUCATIONAL CURRICULUM RATED THEM AS HIGHLY IMPACTFUL.

SHABBAT DINNERCJL HOSTED SHABBAT DINNERS EVERY FRIDAY EVENING THROUGHOUT THE ENTIRE FALL SEMESTER AND FROM MID-JANUARY THROUGH MARCH 13, 2020. THERE WERE MORE THAN 150 STUDENTS AT THE CJL EACH WEEK JEWISH AND NON-JEWISH SHARING A DELICIOUS AND JOYFUL COMMUNAL SHABBAT DINNER TOGETHER. SUCCESSFUL, STUDENT-PLANNED "THEME" PROGRAMS INCLUDED DISABILITY AWARENESS AND INCLUSION AND SOUL FOOD SHABBAT. SHABBAT DINNERS ARE AN IMPORTANT PART OF CJL'S OFFERINGS FOR OBSERVANT STUDENTS AND ALSO PROVIDE A WEEKLY OPPORTUNITY TO ENGAGE SOCIALLY WITH JEWISH STUDENTS OF ALL LEVELS OF EXPERIENCE AND DENOMINATIONS.

JEWISH LEARNINGTHE CJL'S AWARD-WINNING EDUCATIONAL FELLOWSHIPS ENABLE STUDENTS TO TAKE A DEEP-DIVE INTO TOPICS THAT MATTER TO THEM. THE CJL CONTINUED THE JEWISH LEARNING FELLOWSHIPS (JLF), WITH 2 IN-PERSON CLASSES CONDUCTED IN FALL SEMESTER AND 5 SPRING OFFERINGS THAT PIVOTED FROM IN-PERSON TO VIRTUAL AFTER MARCH 13, 2020. OVER 60 STUDENTS WITH DIVERSE BACKGROUNDS AND DEGREES OF JEWISH CONNECTION PARTICIPATED IN THIS WEEKLY CONVERSATIONAL-BASED SEMINAR IN WHICH THEY HAD DEEP DISCUSSIONS ABOUT LIFE'S BIG QUESTIONS AND EXPLORED TOPICS SUCH AS SOCIAL MEDIA AND BIOMEDICAL ETHICS FROM A JEWISH PERSPECTIVE. ONE NEW FELLOWSHIP FOCUSED ON MASS INCARCERATION WAS LED BY EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR RABBI JULIE ROTH AND CULIMINATED IN THE CREATION OF A SPECIAL THEMED SUPPLEMENT TO THE PASSOVER HAGGADAH- THE RITUAL GUIDE BOOK USED AT TRADITIONAL PASSOVER OBSERVANCES (SEDERS).
