THE HISPA ROLE MODEL PROGRAM: ENABLES HISPANIC PROFESSIONALS TO STEP INTO PREDOMINANTLY LOW-INCOME, PUBLIC MIDDLE SCHOOL CLASSROOMS IN WHICH HISPANICS ARE THE MAJORITY TO SERVE AS POSITIVE EXAMPLES FOR OUR YOUTH. VISITS ARE TAILORED TO SCHOOL AND STUDENT NEEDS, RANGING FROM SMALL GROUP DISCUSSIONS TO LARGE AUDITORIUM PRESENTATIONS, BUT ALL EMPHASIZE THE IMPORTANCE OF HIGHER EDUCATION AND INTRODUCE POTENTIAL FUTURE CAREERS. THE HISPA ROLE MODEL PROGRAM HAS REACHED OVER 15,000 STUDENTS TO DATE. IN ADDITION TO BRINGING HISPA ROLE MODELS TO STUDENTS' CLASSROOMS, HISPA ALSO BRINGS STUDENTS TO HISPA ROLE MODELS' WORKPLACES FOR IMAGINE DAY CORPORATE VISITS. THESE VISITS COMPLEMENT THE ROLE MODEL PROGRAM BY ALLOWING STUDENTS TO EXPLORE HISPA ROLE MODELS' CAREERS FIRST-HAND.
