Organizations Filed Purposes: CREATE OPPORTUNITIES FOR PEOPLE IN THE GREATER PRINCETON AREA TO EXPERIENCE EXCELLENT, INNOVATIVE LIVE MUSIC IN MANY FORMS AND VENUES, ENCOURAGING THEM TO ENGAGE IN THE ART FORM.

Performing classical masterworks - PSO planned a six-program Classical Series (all with double performances), two pops concerts in Richardson Auditorium on the campus of Princeton University, and three pops concerts at McCarter Theater. 8,353 people attended PSO concerts during FY20. The final two Classical programs and final pops concert were canceled due to COVID-19. One chamber orchestra concert was presented in Monroe Township, attended by 297 people. A second concert at this location was canceled due to COVID-19.

Education - PSO BRAVO! education programs have been offered free of charge to more than 10,000 students annually since 1995, both in schools to supplement New Jersey music education programs and in the community at large. In FY20, BRAVO! Small Ensemble Visits reached 31 schools in Middlesex, Somerset, and Mercer counties. The PSO holds public masterclasses for young instrumentalists and runs a program called Listen Up!, through which middle school students attend a concert and create art or writing in response. 128 students participated in these programs during FY20.
