Organizations Filed Purposes:
Share My Meals Inc was established to address the important and growing problem of food insecurity in the Princeton Area while avoiding food waste. Share My Meals aims to provide a bridge between individuals and families needing food and food suppliers with excess to share, fighting food insecurity while curbing the environmental impact of food waste. With its The Waste Watcher Program the organization distributes surplus meals from cafeterias of local corporations, schools, universities, and restaurants to food-insecure members of the community. During the pandemic, the organization adapted its operations to launch its Covid19 program, purchasing meals at the cost of goods from local restaurants in order to deliver them for free to the rapidly increasing food insecure population. Both the Waste Watcher Program and the Covid19 Program help families increase their self sufficiency, alleviating hunger and related anxiety in an efficient and caring way.
Share My Meals Inc is fighting food insecurity in the Princeton Area while avoiding food waste. We deliver meals to individuals and families in need. As many local corporations, universities and school, food service companies and restaurants have unserved excess meals at the end of the day, Share My Meals leverages these surplus by distributing them to food insecure people in our community. Share My Meals also purchases meals from local restaurants through its Covid 19 Program and distributes them for free to the local food insecure families.
Share My Meals Covid19 Program: This program waas launched at the beginning of the pandemic in partnership with local restaurants that agreed to prepare meals at their cos of goods. 38465 meals were deliverd under Covid19 Program
Share My Meals Waste Watcher Program: 510 meals distributed from donations made by eating clubs of University.
