TOMORROW'S SCHOLAR-LEADER SPONSORSHIP PROGRAM - IN 2020, EDPOWERMENT'S SPONSORSHIP PROGRAM CONSISTED OF 23 STUDENTS, FROM SECONDARY TO POST-GRADUATE LEVEL. EDPOWERMENT CONTINUES TO PROVIDE ALL EDUCATIONAL NEEDS, AS WELL AS TRANSPORT, MEDICAL AND AT TIME, FAMILY SUPPORT. EDPOWERMENT ALSO WORKS WITH STUDENTS ON EMPLOYMENT AND LIFE SKILLS DURING SCHOOL BREAKS. EDPOWERMENT ALSO OFFERS SPECIAL ASSISTANCE TO ALUMNI OF THE SPONSORSHIP PROGRAM FOR FINANCIAL AND MEDICAL EMERGENCIES.
CONNECTS AUTISM TANZANIA (CAT)- EDPOWERMENT CONTINUES TO FUND THIS TANZANIAN NGO THAT EVOLVED FROM ONE OF ITS ORIGINAL PROGRAMS. CAT IS A LEADING VOICE FOR INCLUSION OF THOSE WITH AUTISM AND OTHER INTELLECTUAL DISABILITIES IN THE TANZANIAN EDUCATIONAL (PARTICULARLY VOCATIONAL) SYSTEM AND SOCIETY. IN 2020, CAT CONTINUED TO LOBBY LOCAL GOVERNMENT EDUCATIONAL AUTHORITIES TO DEVELOP INCLUSION AND VOCATIONAL PROGRAMS AND TEACHING STRATEGIES FOR THIS IGNORED POPULATION. CAT ALSO SUPERVISED A YOUTH CENTRE FOR ABOUT 10 YOUNG ADULTS TO DEVELOP BASIC SOCIAL AND INCOME-PRODUCING SKILLS, PARTICULARLY IN MAKING WOVEN AND OTHER CRAFTS.
