Organizations Filed Purposes: The Arc of Cape May County, Inc. works to promote and protect the human rights of individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities by actively supporting their full inclusion and participation in the community. To also provide the instruction, care, training and recreation of such persons, and in every way to encourage and insure their physical and mental well-being through the development of their capabilities to their highest potential. The Arc of Cape May County, Inc. is committed to enhancing the quality of life of those individuals and their families through direct services, advocacy, empowerment, education and prevention.

Residential Services: Residential Services includes Group Homes, Supported Apartments and Supportive Living. Residential Services provides assistance, instruction, care and training to children and adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities in an inclusive commmunity residential home. Their physical and mental well-being is insured and encouraged to develop to the highest potential so as to ensure that they are defined by their strengths, abilities and inherent value, not by their disability. 88 unduplicated individuals were served by Residential Services during the year.

Adult Training Supportive Employment/Day Program:The Adult Training Supportive Employment/Day Program provides individuals with developmental and intellectual disabilities with instruction and training of a skill so as to be employed and be part of a community. This supports them in the goal to achieve their highest potential and be fully included and actively participate in all aspects of society. 39 unduplicated individuals were served by the Adult Training Supportive Employment program during the year.

Community Based Supports and Respite:Community Based Supports provides direct support and assistance to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD) to achieve or maintain increased independence including self-care, social skills and activities of daily living in a non-residential setting. The Respite program helps relieve stress of providing twenty-four hour care to individuals with I/DD. Respite providers give care to individuals so that caregivers can attend to personal matters. 30 unduplicated individuals were served by the Community Based Supports and Respite program during the year.
