Safer Cats on the Border - Feral Fix for PA & NY: this program was started in 2015 and, since then, has spayed or neutered 2,095 stray or feral cats to date. In addition to spay/neuter surgery, each cat receives rabies and distemper vaccinationsand other medical treatments. All medical issues were addressed, including a number of life saving surgeries.Kittens and tame cats were pulled, fostered and readied for adoption. Many were transferred to PAC's Circle of Compassion program partners in New Jersey to be placed in loving homes. 673 stray/feral cats on the border between PA and NY were spayed/neutered in 2019.Circle of Compassion for Animals: brings together groups and individuals in a coalition of animal advocates with the expectation of establishing no-kill communities in South Jersey. This program was started in 2006."Circle" partners strive to find loving, permanent homes for all adoptable animals. PACS offers financial support to "Circle" referred animals, including treatable and hard to place animals. Support includes reasonable medical care and/or behavior modification training necessary prior to placement.2019 No-Kill Advocacy Support:Paws & Claws is a proud sponsor of the No-Kill Advocacy Center,which was founded in 2004 by Nathan Winograd.Cat Spay Day:Paws & Claws,in cooperation with veterinarians and clinics in the target area, sponsored its 25th annual "Cat Spay Day". Coupons redeemable for free cat spay/neuter surgery were given to eligible residents.The 2019 day targeted senior citizens, disabled, and low income residents in the community of Waverly, NY.Kind News:is an award winning newspaper, started in 1994,that teaches children respect for animals and is made available to more than 3,000 children enrolled in second, third and fourth grades throughout the Cape May county.Save a Life Medical Assistance:provides medical assistance for needy animals in partnership with local veterinarians, and provided more than $3,000 in medical assistance in 2019 for 30 animals, including 2 life saving surgeries.Give a Little Bowl of Love: in 2019 more than $15,000 was provided in pet food assistance to help caretakers feed their pets.Safer(Stray and Feral Eminent Rescue): this network of local rescue groups and individuals is committed to improving the quality of life for homeless and unwanted felines by providing and finding homes, assisting and educating the community, and controlling overpopulation.Cat Lovers Campaign: seeks to interrupt the reproductive cycle at its roots. The program reaches out to residents with unaltered cats, educates them on the importance of spay/neuter and, if necessary assists them financially.Spay/Neuter Programs: over the years PACS developed and implemented many new and innovative spay/neuter programs.PACS partnered with local organizations SNIP, TLC-TNR and C.A.T.S. to spay/neuter 200 felines.They also provided $95,000 in Capital Clinic Support to SOS and Chemung County Clinic in 2019.Paws and Claws Society is a 501(c)(3) charity operated entirely by volunteers.
