Organizations Filed Purposes: FAMILY LINK WAS ESTABLISHED IN 1993 TO PROVIDE LEADERSHIP IN THE PLANNING AND COORDINATING OF NEW JERSEY'S EARLY INTERVENTION SYSTEM IN ESSEX, UNION, MORRIS, WARREN AND SUSSEX COUNTIES. OUR GOAL IS TO FACILITATE ACCESS AND AVAILABILITY OF EFFECTIVE EARLY INTERVENTION SERVICES THROUGH OUTREACH, COLLABORATION, FAMILY SUPPORT, FAMILY INVOLVEMENT AND TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE WITH PROVIDERS AND FAMILIES.OUR MISSION IS TO ENHANCE THE CAPACITY OF FAMILIES TO MEET THE DEVELOPMENTAL AND HEALTH RELATED NEEDS OF CHILDREN, FROM BIRTH TO AGE THREE, WHO HAVE DELAYS OR DISABILITIES BY PROVIDING QUALITY SERVICES AND SUPPORT TO FAMILIES AND THEIR CHILDREN.

Assisted the New Jersey Department of Health in the implementation of the New Jersey Early Intervention System within a 5 county area including: Essex, Union, Warren Morris, and Sussex Counties serving 7,745 families. The SPOE SC department completed 4303 referrals. SPOE SCs enter all new referrals into the EIMS, identify and assign the TET and SCU (for eligible children), and provide follow up with the family as needed to insure compliance with 45 day timelines. All activities related to referrals are logged directly into EIMS by the SPOE SC.Family Support provided a total of 12 presentations including: 5 Overview of Early Intervention presentations to child care providers, medical professionals, and community based organizations, and provided 3 Transition trainings to families, special education administrators and EI practitioners. Family Support has participated on 4 community and health advisory committees, conferences and health fairs throughout the region. FS also participated in the regional, county and service coordination meetings. Family Support also began to develop an annual Family Support Plan as part of the REIC Refresh initiative. Plan implementation is expected in July 2020. The Hearing Consultants have supported 135 families of children with hearing loss and their service coordinators including participating in 95 Family Information Meetings.Training and Technical Assistance Facilitated 8 Introduction to IFSP Development training, for a total of 145 participants, 8 Provider Meetings, 4 Service Coordination Meeting, 4 TET meetings to support the region through system changes and reinforce policies and procedures established by the DOH. Topics included: Childfind/outreach activities, transition workshops, EIMS data topics, webinars, lunch and learn series, NJEIS policy updates, COVID Policy and practice updates, and responding to general technical assistance related questions and topics.
