Organizations Filed Purposes: To bring evidence of God's love to a hurting world. FOCUS does this in the City of Albany by feeding the hungry, enhancing educational opportunities for young people, and advocating for those

Feeding Programs: FOCUS operates a full-time food pantry that served 3,500 families during 2019. A six-day supply of groceries is made available each month. A year-round breakfast served over 18,000 hot meals and bag lunches.

Community Ministry: The Director of FOCUS, an ordained minister, oversaw four worship services during the year that brought together the six congregations of FOCUS Churches along with other community friends that provide the primary core of support for the organization. The Director provided pastoral care and support to people on the street, using grants of cash or vouchers for service, where appropriate. Advocacy for legislation and government funding supporting living wage levels and food security for the poor was pursued with the public and with government officials.

Learning Support for Children: In coordination with Albany Public School District, FOCUS Churches prepared 250 grade-appropriate back packs filled with basic school supplies. Bulk volumes of supplies were also furnished to the District for distribution by school counselors to children of low-income families during the year. FOCUS Churches also provided learning sessions with 114 low-income elementary aged children on basic vegetable growing techniques (Gardening in a Bucket).
