Organizations Filed Purposes: To increase interest in and create greater access to the history of the seventeenth-century Dutch colony of New Netherland.

In 2019 NNI granted 7 awards related to best publications written in 2019, significant contributions to colonial Duct studies and understanding of the Dutch colonial experience, travel payments for students to attend conferences, Fulbright Student Research Grant in the field of New Netherland History and the Dutch world, and student scholar reseach grant to suppport graduate student scholars with 3-month residental research grants. NNI held 42 Annual Conference at Marist College in Poughkeepsie, NY, entitled "New Directions on the Early Dutch. Six scholars were invited and presented detail historical discussion of their work related to the discovery and publication of important 15th & 16th century Ductch documents. From April to June of 2019, the New Netherland Institue, in partnership with the NYS Office of Parks, Recreation, and Historic Preservation hosted a series of eleven lectures on New Netherland related to NYC, the Hudson Valley, & Capital Region. See attach detail discussion.
