CONSUMER DIRECTED PERSONAL ASSISTANCE (CDPAS) - IS A PROGRAM WHERE PEOPLE WITH DISABILITIES WHO ARE MEDICAID ELIGIBLE RECRUIT, HIRE, TRAIN, SUPERVISE AND DISMISS (IF NECESSARY) THEIR OWN PERSONAL ASSISTANTS. APPROXIMATELY 401 CONSUMERS SERVED.
OFFICE FOR PERSONS WITH DEVELOPMENTAL DISABILITIES SERVICES INCLUDE MEDICAID SERVICE COORDINATION (MSC) WHICH ASSISTS PERSONS WITH DEVELOPMENTAL DISABILITIES IN GAINING ACCESS TO NECESSARY SERVICES AND SUPPORTS APPROPRIATE TO THE NEEDS OF THE INDIVIDUAL. MSC IS PROVIDED BY QUALIFIED SERVICE COORDINATORS AND USES A PERSON CENTERED PLANNING PROCESS IN DEVELOPING, IMPLEMENTING, AND MAINTAINING AN INDIVIDUALIZED SERVICE PLAN (ISP) WITH AND FOR A PERSON WITH DEVELOPMENTAL DISABILITIES. MSC PROMOTES THE CONCEPTS OF CHOICE, INDIVIDUALIZED SERVICES AND SUPPORTS, AND SATISFACTION FOR PEOPLE WITH DISABILITIES. THOSE SERVICES, OTHER THAN BASIC RESIDENTIAL AND HABILITATIVE SERVICES, NEEDED BY PEOPLE WITH DEVELOPMENTAL DISABILITIES TO SUSTAIN THEMSELVES IN APPROPRIATE COMMUNITY SETTINGS. THEY ALSO INCLUDE THOSE SERVICES THAT FAMILIES WITH DISABLED MEMBERS NEED TO PROVIDE ENVIRONMENTAL SUPPORTS AND MAINTENANCE OF FAMILY STABILITY AND INTEGRITY. HCBS DAY HABILITATION PROVIDES ASSISTANCE WITH ACQUISITION, RETENTION OR IMPROVEMENT OF SELF-HELP, SOCIALIZATION AND ADAPTIVE SKILLS. 982 PEOPLE WERE SERVED IN 2018.
NYSED AND OTHER SERVICES - IS A PROGRAM THAT PROVIDES A WIDE RANGE OF SERVICES TO PEOPLE WITH DISABILITIES AND THEIR FAMILIES WITH THE GOAL OF COMMUNITY INTEGRATION. SERVICES SUCH AS ACCESSIBILITY CONSULTATION, COMMUNITY INTEGRATION, EDUCATION ADVOCACY, PEER COUNSELING, PSYCHOLOGY, INDEPENDENT LIVING SKILLS, ETC. APPROXIMATELY 3,442 CONSUMERS SERVED.
